This week has just been a ball of suck, I swear. The one bright spot is that neither Jess or I seem to be getting sick. Bivalent vaccine for the win!
Dad was much sicker than originally suspected. No Covid, remarkably, but a massive infection, they don't know from where, or what. Pneumonia, which we had no clue. It really is a good thing that Jess called 911 when they did. That probably could have gone way downhill fast.
He just got moved to a room, and I'm going to go over at noon when visiting hours start to see him. Apparently, they've got him in an isolation room, so I'll have to wear a gown and gloves while I'm there, which is always fun. I'm currently figuring that he'll be in the hospital for around a week. Then, since they most likely won't get him out of bed, it'll be off to rehab for a few weeks. I'm kind of hoping the rehab lasts until we get back from vacation, but we'll see. He definitely could use a little tune up. I've been concerned about how weak he's been getting in general, so some physical therapy would be good for him.
In vacation news, we got our final itinerary from Disney. Our package is now non-refundable, though we do have travel insurance, so if we absolutely can't go, we're covered. And Disney is pretty flexible. But all in all, shit is suddenly real.
Okay, going to go get myself together for hospital visit. Everyone have a wonderful Saturday!
