I feel like I've been behind on everything lately. So, a highly belated happy birthday to
justsonya and apologies for not making your party on Saturday. I suck.
For whatever reason, I'm bouncing back from the pneumonia slower than I'd like. Still coughing, still tired. I'm guessing a chunk of it has to do with getting my period hardcore this week.
Jess finally saw the Neuro yesterday, and we got Imitrex injectable and Topramax, and Naproxyn, and steroids.
Turns out? She's allergic to the injection. Hived up, had her wheezing. Thought we were going to the ER for sure. But three Benadryl and the inhaler settled it down. But all in all, it sucked.
Also, the Daeva is still trying to claw free of my uterus. With the added bonus of no anti-inflammatories. Just Tylenol.
Joy.
But it's okay. Because i'm off tomorrow. And Wincon is in seven months, and we're going to LA, baby!

Oh, btw, I keep meaning to tell you I used to have a t-shirt with your icon quote on it. heeeee I wore it out.
Anyway, I got your email, or at least I saw that I had one, then gmail crapped out on me and I can't even get into it now. grrrrrrrrrrrr

I got the e-mail that the cafe press had been shipped this morning, btw.
LA is going to so rock. We're going to try to get there early to have some funtime before the con.

Look, I am *so* gleeful about this I am abusing both caps lock *and* punctuation. ::hangs head in shame::
I was on the fence about going to the con, but, well, that settles it. I'm not sure what the situation with the hotel room will be on my part (namely, I'm not sure that I'll get one, as LAX is only about a 30 minute drive without traffic from where I live), but squee!!
This is the part of the comment where I say, uh, I'm sorry about the reaction to the injection and that the pneumonia is being a pain? A bit belatedly?

And we're going to get there a few days early to putter around and see sights. And swim if it's still warm enough.

In fact, huh, I forget now. That time of year, it's very possible that they'll have decked the HM out in the Nightmare Before Christmas garb.
Not that y'all would be into seeing that, or anything.

So, what's the weather usually like in October? Swimming or no?
no subject
It looks like it definitely averages between 81 and upper to mid 70s as the high, with lows in the 60s for October. Any given day on any given month, obviously, can vary widely. I wish I could be more specific, but my gut tells me that it usually rains once in October every year--hard to predict which spate of three cloudy days that will be. (No, I'm not kidding. Since we only get rain in part of the year, it's pretty predictable. Most years I've been out here, that's happened in October--one day's worth--and everyone acts like OMG that never happens. Then we don't usually get rain again until November, and not for real until December. It'll usually be mostly done with rain after February, although the last few years, we've had rain regularly as late as April. Then it won't rain again until the next fall. At all.)
So, usually in October we'll get a spate (3 or 4 days) of "grey, cloudy, and cold" weather (still in the 60s, mind you). Other times we get slightly early Santa Anas (hot as in 90+ and dry as in less than 15% humidity, withkiller winds). I think, if your goal is to get into the ocean to say you did it, not a problem. I think in a hotel pool, sholdn't be a problem at all.

I work there. :)
Last year it opened Sept. 29th, which is considerably early, but it was
since we were running the HalloweenTime overlay in the entire resort. It
should open around that time again this year--last weekend of Sept. or
first weekend of Oct.
The resort is finicky sometimes though, so it's still better to double
check back probably in the summer.

Holy Fucking Shit Batman! YIKES! Glad she didn't have to go to the ER but what a sucky reaction. Sorry it failed so horribly.
Hope you both recover from the pneu soon! *hugs*

Thanks, sweetie!

Since this is the first year that Jess has been working full time, we think we'll be able to work it to get one vacation this year, plus the trip to San Antonio to visit Jess' parents.

I just want you to feel better. *hugs*
If Jess is taking Topamax, watch the dosage carefully.
There are other injectibles besides Imitrex. The neurologist should be able to call them in. *HUGS* There are also a ton of oral meds to try as well. Maxalt is a really good one for most people.

Maxalt can have heart side-effects after more than a year of steady use; after 18 months I got traded up to Relpax.
Inhaled stadol is good, it tastes disgusting (I mean really really disgusting), but it usually works.

We're going to try the Topamax over the weekend, so we can see how it affects her.
*crosses fingers* Hopefully we'll find something!

How come everything seems to hit at once? I hope Jess's migraines get more under control, they make life really tough to deal with sometimes.
No anti-inflammatories!? *cries* can you take any kind of muscle relaxer instead? skelaxin is a non-narcotic that doesn't make you sleepy (I don't know any non-prescription, unless Benedryl counts). Feel Better!
You're going to LA? That rocks!

We're going to Wincon!

Is that LA in October? That sounds nice. I mean, madness with the fangirls but also good weather...and maybe Dia de los Muertos?
no subject
We'll see! Hadn't considered Dia de los Muertos--that could be cool!

Stupid people,things, whatsits.
*nuzzle* Not happy about you still being sick either, but you knew that.
Lok after both of you and I'll see you soon honey.

I'm getting better, but it's slow going.
*hugs* Miss you!
