Friday! I'd say freedom, but I didn't work yesterday either. My morning started at 4am, as the dog came hurtling down the stairs into the basement, which he never does. Turned out that the upstairs smoke detector had a dying battery, so it was beeping shrilly every 45 seconds. Our dog is terrified of the sound of trucks backing up (no clue why) so he flipped out. It was rectified in a few seconds, but the wake up and the crawling up on the chair to fix it was less than thrilling.

Amazingly after we coaxed the dog back upstairs, I was able to go back to sleep.

Jess' appointment went really well yesterday. They'd seen this doctor many years ago when they had a xix month long period that left them severely anemic, and he was very nice then, but we mostly saw the nurse practitioner. He kind of swept in, did the procedure and that was it. He took everything very seriously, and (correctly) identified that the pain was becoming a quality of life issue. There's still more diagnostics to come, up to and including exploratory laparoscopic surgery. They did say that the surgery won't be scheduled for 2-3 months because they're currently trying to juggle 60-some cases. First, they'll have an ultrasound and then an MRI, and if either of those shows anything, we'll be able to skip the surgery. Unfortunately, they very rarely do. I really liked the office, so despite the fact that it's literally on the other side of town, I may consider going there for my post menopausal needs.

Today, we've got to go get Dad's prescription, and maybe grab lunch somewhere. Then, home to wait (im)patiently until D&D tonight. It's another three game weekend, so that'll be fun.

For now, though, more coffee. Everyone have a wonderful Friday!
