Nov. 1st, 2022

Morning and I'm sitting here chugging coffee and trying to wake up. I slept really well, but another hour would not have gone amiss. Oh well, two days and I can sleep in. I took off on Thursday, with the plan of getting my Flu shot and Covid booster on Wednesday after work. Hopefully, I won't have a bad reaction to it, but I figured that gives me a three day weekend to recover.

Yesterday was a mostly quiet day at work. No markets came in before I left, so I was mostly doing busywork. I cleared the list of pending return cases and noticed some stuff that was being done wrong, so I brought it to not!manager's attention. This, of course, led to me doing more work on the PowerPoint, so it addressed other people's fuck ups. This is why I dislike doing the pending returns queue. The process works as expected in about 5% of the cases. The rest of it is cleaning up other people's messes. Cases that weren't created correctly. Cases that weren't processed. Cases where the store didn't bother to check in the returned items. It's just obnoxious, and tends to annoy me. Some of the people who are frequent fuck ups were in my training class! I know they were taught better!

Not long after work was done, we started getting Trick Or Treaters. Because Yoda doesn't like people at his house, we just put a bucket o'candy on the porch, and let the kids choose some. He still was flipping his shit at a first grader by 5:30pm, so we put boxes in the front window. That helped a little bit at least.

After everyone was fed, Jess and I went downstairs and relaxed. While I was playing on my phone, I saw a post from Raja, a drag queen about being sick and not being able to attend Adam Lambert's Witch Hunt. I hadn't even realized that Adam had a new album out. After his second album, he'd drifted towards electronica, so I'd kind of stopped listening, since that's not really my thing. But I figured a song called Witch Hunt might be up my alley, so I looked it up. And Lo, it was the name of his concert tour, and there was a professional recording from the 10/30 concert on youtube.

We watched it all, and it made me ridiculously happy. It was a mix of his music and covers, and it was awesome. I really love his voice, and the arrangement of the covers were really cool. I liked most of them better than the originals, honestly.

If you're interested and you have an hour and a half to burn, here it is:

Okay, I'm going to go forth and get myself together for work. Everyone have a terrific Tuesday!
