We are in Lancaster! And yet I am up at 6:00, why? I guess my body goes on automatic sometimes.
After getting Sam's thyroid meds, we left a little early, because I was vibrating. It was hard to leave despite really wanting to go. Deep down, I still feel like that was the last time I'm going to see him alive, even though he's been fine. As a result, I spent the first half of the journey fighting off a little bit of a panic attack, but once we got well into Pennsylvania I relaxed a little.
We stopped outside of York at Hoss's Steak and Sea House for a late lunch. It was totally deserted, which made me feel a little better about eating in. We both had a ribeye, which was very tasty. Hoss's steaks are not fancy, but they grill them well, with just a little salt and pepper, and sometimes that's exactly what I want. It's not like USDA prime meat or anything, but it's a nice comfort meal.
Then, we drove the rest of the way to Lancaster, making one more stop at Aldi to get some snacky foods. We have a microwave in the room, so we picked up some Panera potato soup for an easy meal if we don't feel like going out.
Then, we went to the hotel which let us check in early. After a bit, I doordashed some excellent Mexican food, and we braved Target for some antacids which we'd forgotten.
Then, it was back to the hot tub/pool. God, that was nice. We did two separate dips in the hot tub with a little swimming between. It loosened up my back muscles for the first time in weeks.
After that, it was basically nap time. Didn't sleep great, which I expect the first night of a new bed, and was up at the aforementioned 6am.
The coffee here is utter shit. There's a place called the Coffee Co-op down the road, so I think once Jess wakes up, that may be our first destination. I'm used to very strong coffee, and this is not scratching that itch, no matter how "bold" they may proclaim it to be. It's lightly flavored water. We use Cafe Bustello espresso to make our drip coffee, three scoops for our five pot coffee maker. I'm a coffee snob, what can I say.
Today, we shall go to the outlets and maybe get some icecream. Definitely another swim, though I'm not looking forward to shimmying into a cold wet bikini. I actually wore the bikini! It's fairly boobilicious, but I wore it anyway. As there was no one in the pool, it was pretty much a non-issue.
Okay, gonna go stare at Jess and hope they wake up soon. I really need some esspresso.
