Saturday! Yay! I have nothing planned except a trip to Walmart to get groceries at 11. In the meantime, I shall have my coffee and relax.
I had an early morning trip out to Harbor Freight and Tool to get more gloves for Dad's colostomy bag empties. Apparently we ran out last night, and sometimes he needs attention first thing in the morning. I'd only had one cup of coffee, yet had to strap on a bra and clothes! Ew. And of course, no one was wearing a mask but me and one other older woman, so that's always paranoia inducing.
Yesterday was busy. I had my psych appointment in the morning. It went fine. I'm a fairly easy patient except when my meds stop working, then it's hard because I've tried everything. But at the moment, I'm pretty stable, so all he had to do was give me refills. He was very happy that I went for my check up, and that my A1c was so low. (I'm still miffed that I couldn't get it to 5.6, which would be in the normal range. But 5.7 is really good for a diabetic, since anything under 7 is considered well controlled.)
Then I had to take Dad to the podiatrist, which is always a bit of a production number. It was a new doctor, as his doctor left the practice, so there was that bit of nervousness that they'd be a dick. Fortunately, he seemed very nice and the appointment was done with a minimum of fuss. Dad got in and out okay, and all in all, it was low drama, which is the best one can expect.
Then, it was home to make hamburgers and fries for dinner. The ground beef from good chop was kind of a strange texture--a lot more dense than what we get from Walmart. It was very good, just different. I really liked it, and it was juicy as fuck. Also much less grease in the pan, which was kind of a surprise since it was a higher fat content than what I normally get. Dad actually asked for seconds, which is high praise.
Tonight, we shall have breakfast for dinner, complete with sausage and bacon and eggs. More good chop meat, as we got a pound of uncured bacon in the box. I'm getting another pound from Walmart, as one is nowhere near enough for my family. Tomorrow, I think I'll make the sirloin steaks as I'm really curious what they're like. Maybe more fries with that. We had crinkle fries and Arby's curly fries, and I did the curly fries last night. Or maybe I'll just let my sister get some potato salad for Dad, and call it dinner.
Okay, time to get Dad up for another fun filled day. Have a good Saturday y'all.
