Nothing like waking up to the news about the Ukraine. I'm a child of the 70's-89's, so this triggers a deep and abiding anxiety of "what next?" I feel for the people in harm's way, and I worry about the rest of the world. It seems like the world is going in the direction of sanctions, which is probably the safest option, but doesn't seem to make a dent. It's a mess, and I'm so angry and anxious about it.
Yesterday was boring with bits of busy. The one market that covers Northern CA to Washington (with Albuquerque and Las Vegas thrown in for good measure) hadn't come in for 2 days, so when it did, it was an utter mess and took me two hours to get done. Boston was it's usual clusterfuck, and took a bit longer as well. How they can lose so much of our product, I don't know.
Last night, we made slow cooker chili, which turned out very well. Good Chop's stew meat got nice and tender, even after only 3 hours on high. Tonight, we shall slow cook a pork butt with some potatoes and a nice balsamic rosemary marinade. Tomorrow, probably hamburgers,but we shall see.
No D&D for another two weeks, and I find myself jonesing for my sweet, sweet roleplay. On one hand, it gives me time to read through the module and prep for the games, but I miss it. It'll come around soon enough, though.
