I do not really want to be up this early, but here I am anyway. Ew. D&D didn't go particularly late, so 7:30 was about my limit for resting. (Technically, I woke up at 6:30, and laid there for a little while before I dragged out of bed.)

Yesterday was productive, if tiring. Brother in Law took my sister to work, so I could have the car (because she got hit by a hit and run driver a week ago and her car is not drivable for long distances). I started out the day with a run out to the Amish market to get some meats. I got there within five minutes of their opening, so it wasn't as batshit as it normally is. (The traffic getting there was another story entirely.) I picked up some steaks, stuffed peppers and a stuffed, bacon wrapped pork roast, so that'll be good for dinners next week. Then, it was off to the pretzel place, where I got their special stuffed pretzel-chipped steak with cheese and bbq sauce. They make such a good lunch/breakfast! Lastly, I stopped at the seafood counter and got myself some stuffed scallops, and Jess an enormous crabcake.

Then it was back home to relax until it was time to go get Dad's prescription, which was the main reason I had the car. We watched a Project Runway in there--we're on the penultimate episode now! I was totally spoiled on who wins, but I still enjoy the show a lot. It's good for me when I need something mindless.

I picked up Dad's script and came home just in time to go out to get my sister from work. OMG, the traffic, y'all. It took me fully an hour to get to her work and almost that long to get home. It was driving me crazy.

After that, we had an hour to scarf the frozen Costco pizzas Jess had made in time for D&D!

We'd left our party having just killed Ravisin the evil druid in the abandoned elven tomb. They decided to speak with her dead sister to see what they could find out about her world domination plans.

Turned out, she too was evil, and spouted off a long soliloquy about worshiping Auril, the big bad of the campaign. She was also the source of the possessed bag from a few sessions ago, which she inhabited after being killed by hunters in an accidental shooting. She also dropped some plot hooks about a group of frost druids called the Children of the Frost who serve Auril, and gave the name of their leader.

A later attempt to scry on the leader found her on an isle of ice, with a fortress shaped like a skull with a spiky crown. Not promising. They left the tomb and headed out to check out the area where the satchel was found, just to be on the safe side.

On the way, the bard realizes that they're being followed from above by a raven. They discuss ways to get it to come down before the Air Genasi fighter uses her innate levitate ability to just pluck it out of the sky. An absurdly high animal handling check fails to impress, and the paladin's Speak with Animals spell likewise produces nothing. The bard casts detect thoughts, and the after one failed saving throw, she hears very clearly "I didn't realize they'd be such assholes."

She recognizes the mental voice of the paladin's brother who they were supposed to meet up with later that day in Bryn Shandar. He didn't trust them to show up, so he came looking. Warlocks of his god can merge with their raven familiar for travel.

They let him out of the levitate spell and continue on, with the paladin filling his brother in on all of their adventures. They come to a bridge. On the other side are two frost giants accompanied by two mammoths. The party totally stomps them in two rounds of combat, and throws their bodies into the icy river. The bag's location is a dead end, so they head back to Lonelywood to present the town Speaker with the head of the moose that's been tormenting their town.

We stopped there, and planned for next week! More D&D! An embarrassment of riches!

Today, we shall see what we end up doing. My sister is making noises about doing the laundry today on account of possible snow tonight, so we may end up being stuck. Hopefully, we can at least make it to the dispensary for Jess.

Okay, everyone have a lovely Saturday!
