And somehow, we're back to Monday. I know I've said it before, but I never will understand why Mondays feel significant to me, since I work Sunday-Thursday, but somehow they do. They just feel like a bit of a drag.

I actually slept last night, so that was nice. I got all snuggled under my comforter, and was out like a light. I feel like I could use a little more sleep, but it was a good start.

Ended up taking off from work a couple of hours early yesterday, so that I could take a nap. I don't like to do that, but I was just exhausted.

Fortunately, whatever was going on with Dad on Friday night seems to have passed. He's been fine since. I'll probably continue to be on high alert for a few more days, but I'm trying to relax.

Yesterday, it was easy to leave work early, since our chat was a bitchfest. So we got a project in, and instead of dumping all 400 cases on me, they spread them out over 10 people. (of which, I was one) It wasn't a big deal. Took me about 2 hours to do, but the whining in chat was just painful. Like two year olds yelling "don't wanna!" It was embarrassing me for them. I finally put a "Hey we get these all the time, just normally I end up doing them, so they're spreading the love," comment in the chat and promptly had two managers coming to me to thank me for being positive about it, and trying to turn the tide. It wasn't a whole lot, honestly. I don't know how hard it is to just do your job. It falls under "other duties as assigned." Ugh. My team sometimes.

Last night was the D&D Wild Beyond the Witchlight campaign.

We left our party having just made a deal with the hag Bavlorna to retrieve some items for her and clear the drain of her pool.

They tackle the pool first, and the druid and artificer go in. They find mildly acidic water, and the druid runs into...something that reaches out and burns it. A gelatinous cube is found. Continuing to try to settle things peacefully, the monk dives in and lures the cube out of the water. The warlock takes over, getting it to chase her into an unused stairwell, locking it in. The pool fills again, and the acidic water cycles out.

The party levels up and are now 3rd level! The monk multiclasses into cleric, making him a clonk. The others gain more spells and are very excited.

The party head out for the first retrieval mission. Along the way to the other side of the villiage, they find the hag's cauldron, which contains a Polymorph potion that will turn the person drinking into a giant dragonfly.. They take a couple of jars, figuring it might be helpful to have a flying mount. In the coals, the newly minted clonk and the ranger find a gleaming white unicorn horn. They take the horn and head to pick up the box of animal carcasses.

They find themselves in an insurrection plot! Illig the Baron of Muckstup is planning to assassinate the king! The party agrees that this is a good thing, but stop short of joining the revolution. Instead, they head back to Bavlorna and give her the box, but hold back on her book, telling her she'll get that back when they return from the final retrieval mission--to steal her sister's portrait from her sister's house. She adds the stipulation that they have 7 days to do so.

They head to the balloon, where their pilot and their guide await them. They fly onto Thither, and are dropped near a cave. Inside a wizened old man spins gold coins into golden straw and into useful gifts in penance for his evil deeds. This reverse Rumpelstiltskin hands out gifts to the party. Bags of holding, gloves of thievery, bracers of archery, cloaks of protection, and a hourglass that releases an air elemental are handed out.

We closed the game there, with the characters having gotten a few more plot hooks for next game!

Okay, time to get ready for work. Everyone have a good Monday! (Or as good as it can get!)
