It's Saturday! It should be the day of doing things, but I don't really feel like it. I'll probably get over that once the coffee kicks in, but for now, I just kind of don't want to do anything. Plus, my sister is going out for a birthday lunch, so anything I do, I'm going to be doing alone, as Jess would have to stay with dad.
Yesterday was stressful, but it worked out in the end. As I mentioned yesterday, Dad has an infected tooth, and we weren't able to get him an appointment with the dentist he wants to go to for a couple of weeks. So, I called his primary care doctor in the morning, to see if she'd be willing to give us antibiotics to hold him until then She never called back, despite me calling twice, and being assured that she'd call before she left the office. I'm so thoroughly pissed off at her. In the meantime, Dad is especially fussy because he's hurting, I'm feeling anxious and like the worst daughter ever.
Finally, in desperation, I looked up to see if there was any other way to get antibiotics faster. Helpfully, google led me to Hello Wisp. It's a website that you can go to for primary care services, or sexual health services. For primary care, it's a $10 monthly fee, or for individual it's $65/visit. I lied and said I had a bladder infection, which yes, I know is not ideal. However, it worked. At 10am today, I can pickup a prescription for Augmentin from my Walgreens that should take care of any infection Dad has.
Afterwards, I sat there marveling at the amazing things the future has to offer. It literally took half an hour from start to finish. I wish I'd known about it when I was fighting with my former primary care office to call in my frigging prescriptions.
Since my sister has my car, I ended up waiting til she got home to go get my prescription and then off to Walmart for our grocery pick up. That fortunately went smoothly, and it wasn't too long before we were home and ready to go to bed.
Now I just need to decide whether I want to go drop off the Comcast box, or wait another week. On the plus side, if I do it today, I could then go and get either Chinese food or Sushi burritos, as they're right in the vicinity. I don't know if that's going to overcome inertia.
Okay, for now, I'm going to get myself together and go pick up prescriptions. If I go now, the line might not be too long for the drive thru. Have a good Saturday y'all.
