Day two of my break and I'm awake at 6am. Whoo. I don't think my body is understanding the concept of vacation. It's snowy and cold out, and it would seem like a good day to hibernate, but alas, no.
Yesterday, I got the basic stuff of my superhero game laid down, one day before the actual game.. Funnily, Jess named their player character the same thing as one of my villains, Brainshare. I changed the villain's name, since I wasn't sold on it for the bad guy. I found a name that I liked, so it worked out. Jess offered to change theirs, but I feel like the players come first.
Aside from that, I didn't do a whole lot. Rewatched the Phantom of the Opera, which reminded me that Gerard Butler, Emmy Rossum, and Patrick Wilson sure are hot. Gerard struggled to hit some of the notes, and made some truly bad noises, but I love the movie so much. It's just so pretty, and overblown. I've never seen the stage show, so I don't have anything to compare it to, but it makes me happy.
After that, I flipped on Pacific Rim long enough to watch the "Cancelling the Apocalypse" speech, which hits differently in the pandemic. The bit about believing in ourselves and in each other...Uh, some people, sure. But if the pandemic has taught me one thing, it's that a large portion of the populace would be Kaiju deniers.
Part and parcel of my whine the other day, I think I'm going to go back to studying Swedish. I still want to try to get a job there when Dad passes. You're never too old for an adventure, right? I'm glad to work for IKEA, which lets me apply for jobs all over the world. I'd kind of let the studies lapse after the first blush faded, but I want to get back into it.
Okay, I guess it's time to get myself together for a lovely day of doing nothing. Have the best Friday, y'all.
