Another year almost over! And I plan to be long in bed by the time the idiots in our neighborhood wake me up at midnight. Tempting as it is to make sure 2021 goes out the door, I just don't have that kind of energy when it's not game night. Even then, we usually end between 10-11pm. We've only made it to midnight once, and the next morning I actually slept until 8am.
This year hasn't been too bad for me, really. I'm still working from home for the moment, I've got a decent paying stable job. Everyone stayed basically healthy this year. I had D&D to keep me from missing in person interactions somewhat. We had a beautiful stretch in May where it seemed like things were going to improve a lot, just after the vaccines rolled out to everyone. We even went to the movies! Then, it all went to shit again. We did manage a vacation to Busch Gardens when the Delta variant was just beginning to stir. All in all, it was pretty okay.
This morning was less exciting. First, I went to make the life giving elixir and realized that we were completely out of coffee. Cue early morning run to the grocery store. I thought we had enough to hold us until our grocery order later this morning, and Jess thought there was another brick in the pantry, but alas, no. So I had to actually put a bra on and go to the store. Ew.
Then, after getting home, I got an email that someone was trying to change my Tmobile password. Cue changing passwords for Tmobile and my Gmail account, just to be safe. If it turns out it was my brother in law messing about, I may kill him. I put him on my account so he could get his own damn phone, because he is very good at breaking them, and it was tiresome to have to go to the store every time as the account holder. But of course, what I want to do first thing in the morning is call Tmobile to make sure my account is secure.
The only other big plan for the day is to go to Walmart and pick up my groceries at 10am. Otherwise, it's a whole lot of nothing. I'll be bored before noon, no doubt.
For now though, Jess and my sister are awake, and drinking the coffee I bravely hunted down. I'm going to have another cup myself and prepare for the day. Everyone have a safe, good NYE.
