Todays lyric courtesy of [personal profile] nilchance, who showed me this gem of Fall Out Boy doing "Under Pressure." It's obviously not quite as good as the original, but it's still really good.

I mean, I'm a FOB fan anyway, so maybe I was predisposed to like it, but I really enjoyed it, and it will go on my youtube song playlist.

Didn't do a whole lot yesterday--a quick trip to the dispensary for Jess' edibles and that was about it for us. It was enough to keep me from feeling like I hadn't done anything, and thus fretting, so it worked. We also stopped at WaWa for lunch, which was very tasty, though oddly, the sandwich maker only committed to pickles on one half of my sandwich, but not the other. Very odd, but still good.

The Harry and David dinner arrived. The turkey looks delicious, but the sides are all very small. My sister immediately went online and ordered a couple more sides, so we'll have enough. They look amazing, mind you. They're just on the small side. Fit in the toaster oven small. The pumpkin cheesecake is 7", which was considerably smaller than I expected as well, and the appetizers will be more of an appetease. It should work out fine, just not quite what I expected for the price. We'll see how it all tastes, I guess.

Today, it's back to work, but for a short week, which is nice. Didn't make getting up at 6am any earlier, but it sure will be nice to be able to sleep in (Hah! As if!) for three days. I'll at least have some stuff to do this morning before the boredom sets in.

Also yesterday was D&D! This was our Wild Beyond the Witchlight game. The crew continued through the Witchlight Carnival! First up, they finished their discussion with the bugbear Burly, who suggested that they needed leverage to get Mr Witch and Mr. Light to talk frankly to them. He suggested stealing Mr. Witch's pocket watch, by which the Carnival ran. They could most easily do this during the Crowning of the Witchlight Monarch at midnight.

With some time to kill, the adventurers checked out more of the carnival, going to the Hall of Illusions to check it out. They happen upon a proposal, but as the man drops to one knee the girl breaks out in uncontrollable laughter. He runs off into the Hall of Illusions in shame. Half the party follow, and half go to help the girl. Seeing a statue of Tasha the Wizard, who is famous for the spell Tasha's Hideous Laughter, they figure out what has happened.

The party that go into the hall see him staring in a mirror, where his reflection is joined by a young girl in a pigs mask, who seems to be whispering to him. They pull him away, and assure him that it was something outside that made his sweetheart laugh, not his proposal. He agrees to go back and talk to his sweetheart.

In the meantime, the rest of the party goes to get the girl, but several fall prey to the spell and are left helpless on the ground. Finally, the monk is able to resist the laughter and saves both the girl and the party!

The couple is reunited and the proposal has a redo, this time being answered with a resounding yes! The mood of the carnival improves even further! They speak with Candlefoot, who is manning the door of the Hall of Illusions, and who has lost his voice. He mimes that it was stolen by the Kenku (crowfolk) who the adventurers met earlier.

Annoyed with this, our crew goes to find the Kenku, Kettlesteam and convinces her to release Candlefoot's voice. In the process, they help the Lost and Found department's Displacer beast Dirlagraun to find a child who runs off. In turn she tells them about her lost cub Star, who just disappeared one day a few years ago. She imparts that the bugbear's brother Hurly also disappeared from the carnival. The adventurers agree to look for both missing persons.

Then, it's off to the lake, just in time to see Candlefoot use his returned voice to propose to the mermaid who sings in the lake! The proposal is accepted, and the mood of the carnival rises again.

The party heads to the Pixie Kingdom, where they rode a ferris wheel pulled by a talkative hamster and played hide and seek.

Then, they take a ride on a swan boat pulled by a philosophical giant swan, and see the carnival from the river that surrounds it. Then, a quick ride on the bubble teapot, and it's time to go to the crowning of the Witchlight Monarch!

The ranger is crowned the Monarch, and the fairy rogue takes the moment to steal the watch! After the fuss is over, they confront Mr. Witch and Mr. Light and ask for answers.

They're led to the Hall of Illusions, where they're told that all the answers they seek and more can be found in the land of Prismeer, which lies beyond the mirror. They're given the incantation to open the portal, but warned that they'll need to find their own way back. Before the words are out of their mouth, the Harengon Druid is already through the portal. After a little more cryptic bullshit from Witch and Light, the others follow.

They land in a run down causeway on the edge of a swamp, just in time to watch a balloon plummet into the mists. They head into that direction and run into a band of Harengon brigands. The group manages to intimidate the brigands into leaving and in doing so,they reach 2nd level!

The rest of the session is devoted to leveling up and choosing their accompanying new things! The next session is set up (for my birthday weekend! Two games of D&D for my birthday!), and we wrap for the night!

And on that note, it's time for more coffee and to get myself together for work. Everyone have an awesome Sunday!
