Woke up with this stuck in my brain.
Does that mean it's going to be a good or a bad day?
Probably a bit of both, if I had to guess. A busy day, no matter what.
I'm up an hour early, because I have to go into the office to be formally told that I didn't get the job. I'm not looking forward to it at all. No one wants to hear all the ways they don't measure up. I can hope I get something useful out of it, but I'm not holding my breath. I'm glad I found out unofficially last week. Otherwise, this would really suck. I have no idea why this couldn't be done as a Teams meeting. It just seems unnecessarily formal for a meeting to say no. I'm going to be professional though, and I dressed up a little for it, since it is with one of the second tier managers. Not a much as I did for the original meeting though--I'm wearing a pair of nice jeans this time.
I took half a day off, figuring I wouldn't feel like working after the meeting, but then at 2, Dad has his monthly doctor's appointment, also in person. Both are in White MArsh, so I'll be coming home at 12, to leave again at 1:30. But at least after this, he should be able to do virtual visits for a few months during the winter. And it's supposed to be a nice day--sunny and near 70 degrees.
I may stop at the grocery store on the way home and get some broth and onions so we can cook the chicken in the slow cooker, so I don't have to cook when I get home. Or maybe some tomato sauce so we can have spaghetti. That would also be good.
The internet dropped out last night, but restarted easily. It was running kind of slow last night, but seems to be back to full this morning. Even slow, it was plenty fast enough for the family, but it did give me a little pause. I guess nothing is perfect. I'll just have to watch it for the next two weeks and see how it goes.
I think this morning, since I have to go into the office, I'm going to treat myself to Starbucks. I kind of want a peppermint mocha. If I'm going to be inconvenienced, there should be a compensation.
Okay, time for more coffee. Everyone have a good Tuesday!
