Good morning! For once, my dick of a body let me nap til almost 8. It's a miracle!

Yesterday was for assembling the tricycle, but we ran into some snags. I put the back end on upside down the first time, which required some pieces to be removed to get it back apart, Then, the chain link that I needed to insert the other chain into was bent, and when I tried to force it, it snapped. I messaged the seller, and they're sending me another chain, so that's good. That's about where we're at though. The rear wheels and axle are affixed, but beyond that, we're in a stall. Today, I'm very sore, and my right hand is a mass of little cuts and bruises from the wrench slipping here and there. It was not my finest moment. I try not to swear outside since we have kids on both sides of us, but I think a couple of times I slipped.

Aside from that, we watched Loki and relaxed until D&D.

One of my players was minus an internet, so it we were down a sorcerer. After cleverly dispatching the black pudding that was menacing them by levitating it and taking potshots until it was a puddle, the team debated the ethics of letting the simulacrum try the chamber in the hopes of becoming a real boy. The thought that if the simulacrum turned into the real wizard he was based off, he was going to be a jackass and the party might have to fight him was discussed. In the end, it was decided to be the simulacrum's choice, and for once the crappy chamber worked, and he became a real boy! Who did not immediately turn on them!

The decision was made to block the path to the chamber, which the former simulacrum, now named Gamin helped with his animate objects spell. They ran into bugbears on the way out, but a liberal application of gold made them depart peacefully.

Then, it was off to Bryn Shandar to pick up some commissioned magical items, with a quick stop in Easthaven to get the magical cell phone that would allow the party to talk to the Speakers of the Ten Towns. (Gamin was not allowed to go to Easthaven, as that's where his creator was executed for murder, and we didn't trust that they would accept "not the same guy-just looks exactly like him" as an excuse.)

Once in Bryn Shandar, the party did their shopping, then went to bed. The next day, it was a talk with a local artificer, who wasn't particularly helpful in how to take down the potential chardalyn dragon. ("You'd have to just take it apart.") and the priestess to discuss potential revolution to stop the human sacrifices. During the discussion, they found that the sacrifices are sent out into the snow and ice unprotected with two guards to watch and make sure they don't double back or go to another town. Two guards were fired recently for refusing to take a sacrifice out.

They talk to the guards, who agree to come on the expedition to go deal with the dragon, for the sum of 5 gold pieces a day. Moved by the discussion of what the dragon wants to do to the Ten Towns, Gamin rashly agrees to go, and bring his undead warrior bodyguard. No word on what the bodyguard will think... We wrapped it up there, on a combat light expedition. Next stop, the fortress of Xardarok Sunblight!

Today is Monster of the Week! Here's hoping for a lot of fun to be had.

We should go to the dump today, but neither of us really feel like it, so that'll probably be in the future. We do have to go out to get our Walmart grocery order and the cat's Nutrical, so we'll do that earlyish and have time to relax before the game.
