Woke up early on a Saturday as always. Stayed in bed til 7:30am when I heard Boodle doing...something outside our room. I got up and found that she had found a bumblebee, poor thing. I put it out of it's misery, since it was 3/4 of the way dead already. I wonder how it got in the basement? Boodle is apparently a mighty huntress.

I forgot to mention yesterday that we decided to postpone Dad's shot, since none of us were feeling 100%. I have an email into the Dept of Health to see when we could get him rescheduled. I just couldn't do it on Thursday. Plus my sister was in bed most of the day, so if we'd needed help with him, we'd have been out of luck.

I think I'm going to go into work tomorrow and take Tuesday off, just in case Jess is feeling rough. I want to be able to take care of them, and do their Dad duties if it's needed.

Downside of getting up a little later in the morning? It's now 8:20, and everyone is up. No more quiet time for me. I still have a Swedish lesson to do, which is always fun when everyone is talking. I don't feel like I'm quite getting the new verbs from yesterday, so I need to redo that. With D&D and all the stuff we watched, I didn't do it as many times as I normally do, so I feel behind today.

We watched Falcon and the Winter Soldier and Mortal Kombat yesterday. Spoilers ahoy! Read more... )

Last night was D&D, and our party spent time in Good Mead, enjoying their hospitality (read, their mead). Then, it was off to Bryn Shandar to pick up some plot hooks and ferment rebellion. The people of Bryn Shandar, in an attempt to appease the Frost Maiden and end the winter, have been sacrificing people. Our heroes are so not down with that. After discussions with the temple priestess, it is determined that they'll discuss it with the small but vocal faction that wants the sacrifices to stop. A quick side trip to Targos finds a wayward sled dog, who, thanks to the paladin's speak with animals spell, tells them that his owner was injured by a creature. Entreated by the man's husband, they agree to set out and try a rescue. The way up is treacherous, and our heroes get caught in an avalanche along the way. Fortunately, the fighter's levitate ability saves them from getting carried along in it. They found the missing man and convinced him to go back to town while they look for the rest of his party. An attack by two crag cats (kitties!) ended in an uncharacteristic show of mercy, as the party beat the hell out of them, but left them alive and enclosed in a dome of ice. Next session, onto find the rest of the missing party!

Today, Monster of the Week!
