Things seem to be slowly improving at Casa beanside. Jess is feeling a little better, and hurting less. Still tender, but much less pain than before. The dog is starting to perk up, and seem more like himself, though I think the healing skin of his butt is itchy, judging by the way he sometimes squirms around.
We are still buried under ice on the ground. Since it was primarily sleet, it never really threatened the power lines, which I'm grateful for. It makes going out a little bit of an adventure, though. None of us are in good enough shape to shovel, and I'm not sure that we could even shovel this mess, though our younger and more in shape neighbors have managed.
Turned out Goldbelly accepted Paypal, so in a few days, Seafood gumbo and Crawfish Etoufee will be winging its way to my belly. Also some mini King Cakes, but they'll be about two weeks. We should get them just in time to celebrate my new schedule!
Of course, it also turned out that using the online portal for our bank was less than useless, as they had not cancelled our card. I found this out yesterday, when my Tmobile payment went through. (I'm not upset that it went through. it was a payment arrangement, so I couldn't change anything, so i'm glad it went.) I called the bank and they stumbled through an explanation that it had cancelled in one system, but not another, so no replacement card was ever issued. I was not well pleased. Fortunately, Jess will be able to go to the bank to get a new card on Monday. This still means a trip to the bank this morning for cash, but hopefully, everything will be back to normal thereafter.
This morning, i'm working on my next MotW game. I have an idea that I think will work out, and will hopefully tie in some plot threads. It also pulls in the parts that I liked from the one module that used a religion that was a thinly disguised version of Santeria which I was uncomfortable with. It just seemed insensitive to use something primarily practiced by POC in a game. It also somewhat sensationalized the practices. But, I really liked the monsters, so, I'm going to use them, devoid of the problematic parts.
Trip to the Amish hellscape today for meats. More lunchmeat has been requested, since that was awesome, so I'm going to drive the young ladies at the stall crazy with a big order. I may also hit the bakery and get some goodies, and also the platonic ideal of rolls. (Seriously, they're these light yeasty rolls that are so delicious. They don't even need butter).
