So, we got some ice to go with the blanket of snow. Fortunately, it's supposed to get up to well above freezing today, so that should deal with some of it. At least we got all our errands done before the nasty stuff came in.
Back to work today, so we shall see what awaits. I didn't get my Chicago market done on Thursday, so I'll have an extra big one. And of course, whatever has come up Friday and Saturday that didn't get done. I'm sure the inbox will be a mess. It always is, since there's only a few people on those days to work it. Plus, delivery updates, of course. I usually try to help out with those on Sunday when we don't have minions to help.
Yesterday was Monster of the Week. Our intrepid chaos goblins looked into the disappearance of a big-shot Hollywood producer. Weird shit was quickly found and it turned out the producer had recently obtained a book of spells from an elderly screen writer that allowed him to summon eldritch gods. This led to a showdown in a mineshaft with said abomination, with the screen writer being held hostage. A battle ensued with most of the team taking damage at one point or another! But after the book was destroyed, the monster became vulnerable, and was dispatched! The elderly screenwriter was saved! Healing spells all around!
It's hilarious to me how much of the story changes on the fly based on what the players do. They inevitably go in directions I hadn't expected, and the story can turn on a dime. Originally, this was a straightforward "get the ghoul" story, but somewhere along the line, it became about the elder gods and now my players have a enemy in Cthulhu. Go them! Add that to their mob connections, and I have plot hooks for days. That doesn't even factor in my players personal plot hooks that are related to backstories. I have a great team that challenges my creativity every game, and it's awesome.
