Rough night last night. I forgot to call the doctor for Dad's pain pills. He needs a virtual appointment for that, and now I'm worried that they won't have one in time. I tend to only get a week warning because of the way we do his pills, so it's always a little crunch. I also need to call my shrink, since they only gave me a 30 day supply of my Ambien last time. I have 9 pills left, so I figure after the mess it was last time, I should get in early. In addition to that, I just had a meltdown about money and how it was going to be tight this week. In the cold light of day, it seems a little silly, but no one said late night meltdowns were sensible.
We had a team meeting yesterday. It was predictably shitty. Our bosses asked us to fill out a tracker, so they can see what we're doing. Entirely reasonable, but oh my god, you would have thought they were asking them to sacrifice babies. The whining and entitlement is strong with these people. Then again, this is the same group that compared our cushy, work from home job with the slaves of ancient Egypt. I shouldn't be surprised. There was also a kerfuffle over hiring 6 new people. And yes, to be fair, I think they overhired. We're pretty caught up on the work, but wow.
Then, I had a coworker not on my team melting down because her team is planning a get together at a restaurant. She's new to the team, and is torn between wanting to be a team player, and not being an idiot about COVID. People. I just don't get them.
It won't start for a couple of weeks, but I got confirmation that I did get the 8-4:30pm schedule. I'm very excited about this, as I have coveted that schedule for a long time. It just makes everything easier. And getting done while it's still daylight is going to be nice. Now I just need to wait for it to take effect. Probably not until Feb 21st, but we'll see.
