Big plans for today. I'm going to make the drive to Cracker Barrel to get our Thanksgiving dinner. Probably also pick up something for lunch. I'm craving the French toast platter, so that's me sorted. That's pretty much it. Maybe we'll watch Deep Blue Sea 3. Yeah, I could be in the mood for a cheesily bad shark movie. Though it's going to have to be really ridiculous to match Deep Sea 2, in which the sharks growled underwater. Jess and I both found that fucking hilarious.
Tomorrow, we shall visit the dispensary to pick up some new pot strains for Jess and some CBD mints for my sister. There's a THC pain lotion I want to try, but I think that'll have to wait for next paycheck, as topicals are fucking expensive.
Weed in general is on the pricey side, presumably to pay for all the bullshit licensing the dispensary and growers have to go through. (And I'm sure a tidy profit margin). I'm glad we can afford it, but it really reinforces that medical cannabis is going going to go to higher economic brackets, and the still illegal stuff is going to be for people in lower tax brackets, probably shutting out a lot of BIPOCs. It also continues the bullshit jail pipeline, in which the aforementioned BIPOC get prosecuted and jailed at a much higher rate. I'm hoping the next governor sees that and legalizes it, which should knock down the prices, and make it more accessible for everyone.
But that's for tomorrow. Today, I shall be grateful for all the good things this year has brought. Despite the pandemic (and getting the damn virus) my family has a lot to be grateful for. I have a good job that is letting me work from home. It gave me two weeks of emergency Covid sick time when I needed it. Shelly has a good job, and even if she has to go into the office, it's small and is careful about it protocols. I have excellent friends who I get to chat with on a semi-regular basis. I have my family, weird and occasionally annoying though they are. I have Jess, who I love more than anything. We've been together for 20 years, and they're always amazing me with how awesome they are.
And I'm thankful for all of you. It's helped my mental health to journal, and I appreciate every one of you who have commented or read my blatherings.
For those in America, have an excellent Thanksgiving, even if it's a little different this year. For those who aren't, happy Thursday!
