First off, many thanks to the lovely
navlasha for my beautiful yellow rose! Also to whoever was kind enough to give my love in the Valentine Game, thank you as well!!
Proving yet again that Jess and I fail at "special" holidays and at being particularly high maintenance, I looked at her on the night of the 13th and went "y'know, I feel a little guilty--I haven't gotten your Valentine's present." Her response was "Oh, thank god. I was going to say that we should postpone til Friday."
The consensus was that we say I love you with little presents and things all the time, so why make this day a big deal. Since she had a snow/ice day, we went out to lunch together and had sex and cuddled a lot. And that, honestly was good enough for me. *grin*
It's funny how much more Valentine's meant to me before I had Jess. Back then--seven years now, omg--the onslaught around the holiday just reminded me that I didn't have anyone. It went from "you don't have a date" to "you are obviously a defective mutant, not to have someone." And then, I found my beautiful wife on a wrestling fanfic board. Go figure. Some things are just meant to be.
Now, since I obviously fail at Valentine's Day, I'm instituting a Feb 15th day of fandom love, dammit.
Anonymous commenting is on and IP logging is off, of course! Though by all means, if you want, use your name. It's just an option.
So, c'mon, tell the fandom who you love
( go behind the cut for my entirely non-anonymous fandom love )
