Somehow, I always seem to do this on Mondays.
Spent the week in a state of suspended bitchiness. Have no clue why, but I was not great to live with. It came to a head on Wednesday, when the power inexplicably went off, leaving me unable to see the 100th episode of Alias. Having been waiting all week to see two of my three favorite characters, I was pissed. Fortunately, i channeled the annoyance into clearing a little more of the garden out. We've still got a pretty good chunk of things to do, but we'll get there.
Once we get the sod cleared out, I think things will go smoothly. We haven't really started planting things yet, because until we have a clean slate, it's kind of hard to decide where things are going. We've decided to dig a firepit, that much I know. Originally, I was thinking we should line around the top with bricks, but we'll see.
Aside from that, we know that the God and Goddess roses (red and white, respectively) are going on either side of the small pathway at the entrance. That pretty much covers it.
Saturday, Jess had to do the Praxis testing, since we moved Beltane, and I putzed around, then we went down the inner harbor to see the boats that are visiting for the Volvo race. We had a blast, and were introduced to the joy of the Brazilian drink Caipanha, which kicked ass. Walked the habor, had fun, and enjoyed quality time.
Sunday, we decided to go see Silent Hill, which...I really, really hated. A lot. ( Read more... ) All in all, that's a couple hours I won't get back.
After that, we did some gardening, and kind of took it easy for the rest of the day, except when I made little pancetta biscuits off the food network (kick massive ass, and very easy to make!)
Then, we watched iron chef, and slept.
Now, tis Monday, and I'm back at work. Whoo.
Blessed Beltane to those who celebrate. May the Lord and Lady bring you all the blessings and fertility (type of your choosing) of the season.
