Back to work this morning, yippee. Don't really feel like being here. I love my job, but I'm tired of people. I think I need a vacation--a real vacation--the kind where you go somewhere, and have fun. I've promised Jess that some time soon, I'm going to surprise her with an overnighter to somewhere nice. After the last two weeks, we deserve it.
On the crafting front, Dad has a lead on a new job, which would be cool. It's in Glen Burnie, which is a down side, but it would be day work, and a desk job, dispatching oil trucks. They also have a printing division, which has openings as well, so it could be a good thing. *nod*
Friday, we pretty much just wandered around--didn't do a whole lot. I warmed up a ham on the grill, which I glazed with a spiced honey mix. Jess has dubbed it the "orgas-ham." I have to admit, it was pretty tasty. I enjoy cooking in general, but especially on my grill. Then, we took Shelly to do some shopping--her for a baby shower and us for the Mabon craft projects.
Saturday, I got up early to start cooking the Mabon Turkey. I used syringes to pump it full of Corona before I tossed it in the oven. and stuffed it with a nice cornbread-sausage stuffing. Our Safeway has begun carrying chicken Andouille sausage, so we cut up two sausage into the stuffing, and fried up the others for breakfast. Mmm...spicy goodness. Must remember to pick up more of those next time I'm up there. It would kick massive ass on the grill.
Mabon was wonderful, we had wonderful food, and a great ritual. Stayed until nearly 10:30, just enjoying the company of my wonderfully perverted covenmates. Many thanks to Sonya for letting us break her hubby. I haven't seen Dennis blush that red in forever. Got more of Sonya's hand me-downs, including a sexay black mini-skirt, and the purple corset/gypsy skirt combo. I think I'm going to pick up tights to wear with the miniskirt this week, maybe go somewhere fun this weekend. I'll take pictures, have no fear.
Came home and crashed until 10:00 on Sunday morning. We'd planned to hit the flea markets, but they were closed due to hurricane, so we went to Panda Express for lunch, and then did some grocery shopping.
It's kind of sad, we're such dorks when it comes to doing the couple-ly things. I love going shopping with Jess, sorting through the paper to see who has what on sale, and writing out a list/planning the menu for the week. It's this weird nesting thing. The supermarkets around here invariably play cheesy pop music, and more often than not, we end up dancing in the frozen food aisle, which is deeply embarrassing.
After that, we went to see Underworld, which wasn't nearly as bad as the critics have made it sound. I mean, it wasn't the be-all of movies, and there were a lot of things that needed work but overall, pretty cool. Kate Beckinsdale was hot in her vinyl, and Michael Sheen was deeply hot as the head werewolf, Lucian. Otherwise, there were a lot of pretty and bland people, who shot a lot of cool bullets at each other. The werewolves had ultraviolet bullets, which did really cool damage to a vamp...which we only got to see once. Yeesh. The vamps responded with silver nitrate bullets, which did cool things...we got to see a whole two of those. Hopefully, with the decent gross it pulled down, the second one will get better actors and special effects. Too bad they killed off the best characters in this one.
Came home to do more grilling. Mmm...chicken. I have some of it with lunch today, nice chicken salad on oriental greens with sesame dressing. I drool.
