Wild weekends

Monday, Monday....Ah, back at work again. Whoohoo. But, it's the last week before we go on extended break from checkups--also known as the tidy-the-office-and-write-smut time of year. I can't wait!

Had a wonderful weekend, spent most of Saturday down at Den and Sonya's for Jess' class/Full Moon, which was cool. Got to spend time with [livejournal.com profile] tobiasnevermore, [livejournal.com profile] tiadawn, and Margot, which I don't get to do as often as I'd like. Had a good ritual, complete with the Goddess bouncing up and down at me (sorry about the knees, Sonya!) She, like both Jess and I, are excited about the upcoming handfasting.

Ah, the handfasting. We still have a few things to do--mostly the cosmetic stuff on the arch, some touch ups on Jess' bouquet, and printing the ritual out/finding a cool book to put it in. Also, finding some really nice Thank You notes. *nod* We've got so many wonderful friends doing so much for us that I can't even begin to number them.

Sunday morning, we were awakened by the return of the goddamned mouse. Fucker. I took Jess to work, and came home, planning on dozing for half an hour before I did laundry. Instead, I passed out, barely awakening in time to grab something from Taco Hell to take to Jess for lunch. Shelly and I went shopping briefly, so as to find stuff for both of our upcoming trips. Then, it was off to Gay Pride day.

Had much fun wandering around the festival, got a Pina Colada slushie, which was v. tasty. Found out that the Towson UU church does have meeting rooms it rents, which is cool. I think Jess and I are going to try to run a Pagan/Wicca 101 group, or something along those lines for my 2nd. Degree, since there's a serious dearth of decent groups in Towson. (Don't get me started on Bell, Book and Candle!) I'll probably give them a call in the next few days, maybe go over and chat with the pastor, though I need to talk to Sonya to figure out exactly what I can teach them. I'm looking forward to it, actually. It's taken me forever to kind of figure out where I fit in, but I think I'm getting it. Whether it's by writing the great Wiccan fantasy novel or by starting a resource where there was none, I think I'm meant to teach. This opinion may change once I have half a dozen witchlets staring at me, asking me if they're going to learn how to do the shit they saw in The Craft.

And then, last night, after Father's Day Dinner at Denny's (we're high-class, yeah) I came home to a wonderful surprise.

A full mousetrap.

Understand, we used the humane trap, which meant that it contained one very frightened, but very much alive mouse. I promptly squicked and made Shelly take it out into the back of the yard for release. This led to a much more peaceful night's sleep (though the sex helped, too!) and me being much more chipper this morning. Go Me!
