Okay, I love the snow. I love how it feels, I love playing in it, I love watching it fall softly onto the trees. I love how it muffles noise, so that when you walk out at night in the snow, it feels like you're the only person alive.

Still, after 30" two weeks ago, plus 2 more yesterday, I'm getting a little tired of it. Yet, we're being forecasted for 6-10 inches tonight into tomorrow. Oh, happy day.

At least it held off for the mini vacation to Philly. We'll be posting a travelog soon, but things have been too hectic to sit down and type it out.

We got back Monday morning, in plenty of time for my great uncle's funeral, where a combination of genuine fondness for him, and PMS turned me into a crying marshmallow. Plus, he was a veteran of WWII, which meant that we had the National Honor Guard doing the whole flag on the casket and playing Taps. That ceremony somehow is one of the most touching things I've ever seen. Maybe because it calls to that tiny part of you that still believes in the ideals of the country. Either way, by the time the young man went to his knees and handed my cousins the flag, "as a symbol of thanks from a grateful nation," I was in tears.

Then, Tuesday, back to work, come home to find that Mom had her front tooth pulled (it had broken off 3 weeks ago, but she hadn't found time to get it fixed.) and was in pain.

So...Wednesday consisted primarily of shopping and cooking so she didn't have to. Hopefully, tomorrow or Saturday, we'll be able to get some work done on it--though Nix is doing her big project/presentation on Tuesday, so we'll have to see how she's going on that. School comes first, of course.

But, suffice it to say that we loved Philadelphia, can't wait to go back, and the people at the Sheraton Society Hill are wonderful. More on that to come soon!
