RE: Loyola and the Jesuits. Dude, the Jesuits are cool. No, really. They've always had this totally iconoclastic streak of telling the mainline, less liberal Catholic church to fuck off. The Jesuits are one of the most relentlessly intellectual religious organizations I've ever seen anywhere, and as far as I can tell they generally embody most of the good shit of the Catholic church with very little of the bad. And Jesuit schools have that streak in a big way. They often end up as not the kind of Catholic school you'd think them to be. ::shrugs:: Just a thought.
