Keep it cool, what's the name of this club? I can't remember but it's alright, a-alright
It's Saturday and I'm up at 6:30, whoo! My body and brain suck sometimes. It's going to be a mostly blah weekend, though we may have some sun later this morning, which would be nice. I have to go up to see Dad, and aside from that, I have nothing til game at 7pm. Tonight, I'm running Honey Heist, which is a pretty well known one shot. Everyone ends up doing Honey Heist at some point. It's just a thing. I've got a few things plotted out and a map, but aside from that, it's all going to be on my players to decide where to go and what to do. Aside from that, not a whole lot going on today. Tomorrow will be crazy enough in it's place, with three games!
Yesterday turned out to be a gorgeous day. It went up t0 73 degrees! I had my windows open on the drive to the taco place where I was meeting my friend from 911. She got fucked over worse than I did, and it's continued since she was fired. She still hasn't gotten the COBRA info or the pension information that I got. We roundly abused our former job over a TON of food. I was going to order something small, since I wasn't paying, but no, she insisted on getting two appetizers, that I order something bigger and then she got Jess a take home. She's such a kind person.
I ate a ton of nachos with ground beef, and found that whatever they do to their sliced jalapeƱos, I fucking love. I got one on accident, and goddamn it was good. After that, I was pulling them off and putting them on my chips. The portions were huge, and honestly, I could have just eaten half the appetizer and been happy. But soon after, my birra burrito with birra juice came out. It was so good! I managed half before I needed to stop, feeling like I would never be able to eat again.
It was really nice to get out and talk to another human, honestly. She's having the same feelings of grief and anger over the job that I am, though I think hers is a little worse because her trainer made mine look good. At least mine never said "I don't want to train these people" and "I hate old people." (My friend is 60.) It seems like she's pulled out of the post job depression and is working out and going out with friends. She has her late husband's pension, plus social security, so she doesn't have to work if she doesn't want to. She also had an enormous tin of Christmas cookies and candy for us, and regifted some skin care products. I ended up coming home with two big bags of stuff.
Then, it was back to being bored. I spent the time doing all my vacation planning. At this point, we've decided to switch cruise lines to Holland America. I can get a concierge suite for what Disney is charging for a balcony room, so I'm going to upgrade. Sure, I won't be able to get a picture with Minnie Mouse, but I will get fresh cut flowers every day, and a refrigerator with drinks and a whirlpool tub on my verandah.
I finally had to admit that Mexico might have to wait a year. We'll still do something fun, but there's just no way financially that we could go and be comfortable. Instead, we'll do Confab in October in Chicago and stay a couple of extra days so we can enjoy Chicago.
Alaska, however is a go. The only reall question is whether it would be in 2028 or 2029. With the Pinnacle Suite, it might have to be 2029, since that's going to run a little more. If we went with the next suite down, we could definitely do sooner, but I want the white glove treatment.
Okay, I'm going to get some fresh coffee and do some game prep. Everyone have an excellent Saturday!
