And before you know, it get to feeling good you simply got no choice

Another birthday come and gone. It was a pretty good one, even though we did shit out of order. We had cupcakes on Sunday, I got my presents on Saturday, and I never did get sung to. lol. (Which, considering that the dog would have wanted to chime in is just fine.).

We went to a little Italian place that had shown up on the best restaurants list. It's a place in an industrial area that sits right across from the Muslim Community Center. We started out with Nona's Burrata, which was a big ass ball of soft mozzerella, pesto, crushed pecans, arugala and fig jam. That fig jam was addictive. It came with some lightly garlic crostini, and I have never minded spending $13 less. So good.

Sadly, it was still breakfast time, so we weren't able to try the pasta. Next time, definitely. Instead, Jess got chicken and waffles and I got a little casserole that was home tries, peppers, onions, egg and cheese, topped with crab imperial sauce and large chunks of crab meat. It was SO good. Really rich, though. I managed to eat about a third. All in all, I was very pleased with my birthday brunch, and will definitely go back there when I have the money.

After that, we just kind of putzed around until game time. I took my sister up to the laundromat to do her laundry and played on tiktok for a while. About 4:15, I decided that I wanted my free hot chocolate from Starbucks, so we headed out intp the rain in search of delicious chocolatey goodness. Fortunately, in addition to my birthday reward, I also had enough stars to get everything free. Jess and I split a large peppermint white chocolate (my way, with a few less pumps of syrup.) It was surprisingly tasty. Reminded me of the white peppermint Hershey's kisses, just in hot drink form. It's only here through the holidays, so I may have to go back at some point.

Then, we had D&D, which was a lot of fun. We finally made it to the tower of Dr. Moureau, and did battle with some fucked up abominations. Then, we cured the creator of her madness and made sure it wouldn't happen again. All in all, a good day's work.

Today, I have nothing planned. I'm scheduled to get the flu shot, but I think I'm going to reschedule until after the Progressive interview tomorrow, just in case it kicks my ass. I've never had problems with the flu shot, just Covid, but just to be safe, I 'll delay it a day. Mostly my day is going to be checking my email every five seconds in the hopes that I get an interview from someone, or an offer from Hopkins.

We shall see!

I may take a nap, honestly. It's dreary and rainy and grey here, so a nap mid day sounds lovely.

Okay, time to get Dad up. I hear him stirring. Everyone have the best Monday you can!
