Into the great wide open under them skies of blue
Probably going to be a shortish one today, because I don't think I can focus that much.
Today's the day! Time to start a new chapter! Holy crap, I'm actually doing this. The alarm went off depressingly early. Technically, I woke up at 3, played around on my phone for a little while, and then went back to sleep. My money from the 401k came in, so I went ahead and placed the orders for work clothes I'd been sitting on and soon will have a pile of clothing to wear. I'm very excited about that. Lands End polo shirts are so comfy, I'm looking forward to having enough to wear for a week. And I got black and charcoal pants and more bras, so I should be good to go.
I'm leaving super early so that I'll have enough time to stop for coffee on the way. I have stars that are expiring from Starbucks, so I might as well use them and get my free coffee. Then, on to the HR building for "New Employee Orientation." They told us to park in the 2 hour spot, so I'm assuming that'll only take a little while. Then, it'll be off to my actual place of work for the rest of the day. With a little stop at Wawa to grab something for lunch.
We did a dry run yesterday, and it took us about 30 minutes. With morning traffic, I'm figuring that I'll allow an hour plus 15-20 minutes for a coffee stop. It means I'm leaving super early and will probably be sitting in the parking lot for a good 45 minutes, but I'd rather that then being late.
We also went and picked up the bra and pants that I had ordered from torrid. Hopefully, that'll keep me in pants until the new ones arrive.
Aside from that, yesterday was quiet. I spent most of the day in low anxiety/bored status. It wasn't bad, but it was annoying. I was too anxious to focus, but also very bored. Thus the day passed, and I finally was able to go to bed.
And on that note, it's time to get myself in gear. Everyone have a most excellent Monday!
