I don't know how you keep on giving
Up early for a Friday so I can take my sister to work. Pupper has a grooming appointment, and my car doesn't go in to get fixed until Saturday. But! My car gets fixed on Saturday! I'm so excited about this. I'm kind of sick of Uber and Lyft.
Yoda was a bit of a pain for the groomer last time, so I'm a little anxious about how much he's going to cost us this time. They charge more if they are difficult, which is totally understandable. I just hate that my dog is a problem child.
My day will be busy today. Take my sister, grab my prescription, take the dog, pick up the dog, pick up the sister, come home and play D&D.
A bright spot to my morning: The Trans Equity Act passed the senate and the house of Maryland, and is heading to the governor's desk to be signed. This codifies gender affirming care for Medicaid recipients, removing one more barrier to proper care. Since this was one of the platforms the current governor ran on, I don't have any worries that he'll veto. There was talk from the few Republicans in the House about putting in a amendment declaring that it was only for the adult population, but that fortunately failed to get any traction.
Yesterday, I couldn't deal with the two hour meeting, and left work at 12, and went to the hospital. I was pleasantly surprised. When I arrived, he was sitting up in bed, and alert. He's still a little confused about the last few days. He was telling me about how he and his nurse were closing down at the other hospital and she set off the alarms, and then he set off the alarm. But later he was telling me about how he woke up in someone else's house, and then looked at me and said "I don't think this really happened," so that's a start.
But overall, major improvement. He was able to hold a conversation, and was animated and chatty. He introduced me to his nurse, so I know he knew who I was. While I was there, he had to drink two cups of dye for his CT, and he complained about the taste, but willingly did it. I stayed for a couple of hours, then they came to take him for a lumbar puncture. *shudder* and CT. Hopefully we'll have some info today as to where the infection is coming from and what antibiotic will be the best fit for it.
Okay, time for me to go forth and get myself together. Everyone have a wonderful Friday!
