It's a heavy lift, with a gift so humbling
Subject line for your daily earworm needs. In other words, I woke up humming about Bruno, and everyone should be so graced.
Motherfucker. My battery light is on. Which Google tells me is probably the alternator, and I have maybe 30 minutes before my car dies. This is not something I needed this week. Oh well, on Friday I'll take it to the garage and see what they have to say. If I'm lucky, it's a corroded battery lead. I'll just have to Uber to work on Thursday, since I won't be able to go to the garage before then. I really didn't need this directly after vacation, but I will have to deal.
Dad continues to be unpleasant and annoying. Fortunately, it was my sister's turn to visit yesterday. He continues to act like he's a prisoner, and there's no reason at all that we felt like he needed rehab. He also doesn't like the center, and says the people there aren't "professional" enough for him. When pressed, he said they don't dress professional enough, and he's not sure they're qualified. I assured him that they are qualified. His therapists are "mean." I'm trying to pinpoint when he became such an asshole, and whether it's just the natural consequence of aging, or if we caused this by giving him everything he wanted. Tonight is my night, so we'll see how well that goes. Do I get through it without telling him to go fuck himself? It is a mystery.
Jess is on the mend, but still sore. They were definitely perkier yesterday, and said they hurt a little bit less. They've still got a minimum of 2 weeks to take it easy, but I'll be happy when they're hurting less. They've quit caffeine cold turkey, which I would not have the strength to do.
They did really well with our game last night, but were definitely hurting by the end, poor kitty. They definitely win MVP for the session as their warlock's counterspell keep the part from being barbecued multiple times.
We finished the main part of the module, but there is a sidequest that the players haven't done, and they just want to keep playing these characters, so we're going to find something else to play to continue with these characters. We have another session next week, but that's just going to be me homebrewing some stuff. I have an idea, but I need to check in with my players and make sure that it's not something that would bother them. I've gotten a go ahead from two, so that's six to go.
