I'm tired of being what you want me to be

Yesterday was horribly boring at work. I had nothing to do pretty much the whole day, which made the day draaag. I poked at the inbox some, and worked the two markets that came in, neither of which took long.

Jess' friends, who I DMed for on Saturday have decided that they'd like to make it a regular thing, so we're going to do one or two more one shota, and then probably jump into a campaign. I spent the second half of my day reading through Baldur's Gate: Descent into Avernus. It seems like a nicely fucked up module. Thank fuck for pirate sites. I was able to read through the PDF of the module for free. The one thing that gives me a touch of pause is that it's a little linear, which hasn't been the best for me in Witchlight, but I think it's different enough that it'll be okay.

Last night, I threw some chicken and broccoli in the crock pot with some cream of chicken soup, garlic and cheese. It made a nice dinner, I gotta say. Tonight, shall be pot roast, sadly we have no little potatoes or carrots to cook with it. I could, I suppose give it a Philly flavor and add peppers and onions. That might be interesting. I will think on it, since I don't have to toss it on until 10am.

I continue to really love my new MacBook. My favorite part may well be the screen. I forgot how nice Apple's Liquid Retina display is. The audio is also nice. My earphones worked very well for Discord, and I could hear loud and clear. Much more crisp and intelligible than it sometimes was on my phone. To be fair to my phone, I have better earphones for the Mac. It's hard to find reasonably priced USB-C earphones, where as for a 3.5mm jack, it's pretty easy to find something good.

I'm still debating on whether to do a pro DM gig. On one hand, extra $$. On the other, it's a lot of responsibility. There's no guarantee that anyone would want to play with me, anyway, seeing as it's my first time. There's a lot of DMs on the website, after all. If I did it, I'd probably do an Adventurers League Module. I might have to do a character creation session/introduction to Roll20, which I couldn't charge as much for. So, that would be committing to doing a minimum of 2 sessions. My impostor syndrome is warring with my interest in money.

Okay, short one today. Time to get ready for work, I'm afraid. Have a good Tuesday!

Shota?? LOL

You can get a dongle to convert 3.5mm jack headphones so they can plug into your phone. I habitually use one since, as you say, it's hard to find headphones, reasonably priced, that are also USB-c (https://www.amazon.com/Apple-USB-C-Headphone-Jack-Adapter/dp/B07K25P3N1)

I mean, obviously, you don't have to do that now, with the new Mac, but just in case.

It costs you nothing to give it a try. And certainly, if I was shopping for a DM, I'd much rather play with someone who was women-friendly, queer-friendly, etc. It's my biggest obstacle in finding a group to play with for the weekends our group doesn't play together; I don't want to end up in some dudebro group where the DM thinks it's him AGAINST the players.

Also? You're a good DM. I enjoy playing with you. It's a lot of fun.

I made pot roast last night. I had some carrots but they were small so I was going to wait until part way through & then toss them in the crock, but I forgot. It turned out great anyways & I ate it up with mashed potatoes & didn't mind at all. Got leftovers, too, which is the best part. I'm sure yours will be tasty however you do it.

Is a MacBook like a Chrome Book? I love my Chrome Book. I've just started getting into audio books, which I buy through Chirp. I've liked all that I've listened to, so far...might be a good way to cut down on the paper books. The poundage is getting a bit much.

Oh, then I wouldn't likely use one fully, either. I like mine to play & pay bills on, & when my printer's working I can print from it, & that's good enough.

It's hard to ruin pot roast! 😋
