It's funny how we feel so much but we cannot say a word
So the phantom meeting turned out to be the monthly Equality, Diversity and Inclusion meeting. A good chunk of it was impressing on us how mandatory the training is on the 21st. If we want to still be part of the forum, we have to go into the office for our entire shift. No exceptions. We have a mask mandate, so it wouldn't be that risky, but damn, I don't want to. I'm debating using a little bit of PTO, and coming in late, so I only have to work four hours in the office. As I said before, the committee is chaired by our HR dept, and I don't want to risk future promotions to this. Plus, it feels a little disingenuous to say I can't do that, and then go on vacation a week later.
Otherwise, the day was mostly frustrating owing to tech issues when I logged in. It took a password change and four complete reboots before I was able to get everything up and running. This on the day i was doing delivery updates, of course. It took a little while to get them going, but eventually I was finally able to do them. We got them all done, which was surprising, as the reschedules from the Gulf Coast are coming in. They'll be delayed by about 2 weeks, which will hopefully give everyone time to be ready for their delivery.
Today shall be for catching up on all my markets, which did not get done yesterday. Then, we have the 4:00pm meeting with the transport providers that will hopefully not turn into a bitch fest. If I can just get them to answer the questions I dutifully put on every report, it would be worth it. It'll be a short meeting, since I'm only there til 4:30pm.
The weather was making me crazy yesterday. We were under a tornado watch for most of the day. Fortunately, it only came to a lot of rain and a little thunder. Still, it stressed me out. Between that and the cat having a particularly loud and obnoxious day, and the stress of the work day, and my current vacation worries (and probably that the world is on fire--looking at you, Texas and SCOTUS), I ended up sobbing right after we went down to bed for podcast time.
Okay, I suppose that's enough of that. Time to go get dressed. Have a good Thursday, everyone!

I'm glad you guys weren't hit by the rains the way NYC and more NE areas were - the reports are so awful
