And whatever I believed in; this is all I have to show
Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving, or Thursday, as the case may be.
Ours was good. The drive to get the food was uneventful, and before we knew it we were home with a big box of goodies. Cracker Barrel's holiday feast does not fuck around. It's two good size turkey breasts, plus stuffing and cranberries and rolls, plus three sides. We got hashbrown casserole, mac and cheese and green beans(for that vague nod at something veggie related) It was all delicious, and even the turkey only tweaked my Covid-meat-is-rancid taste buds for the fist few bites, before that eased up and I was able to enjoy it. It doesn't taste the same, but yesterday at least, that was okay.
Since non of us (except Dad) had bothered with breakfast, we had Thanksgiving Lunch and dinner, which used up a fair amount of the food. We have about half the sides (except the hashbrown casserole, which is less than half) and a turkey breast left. Some of that will get eaten today. The pumpkin pie is almost gone. I should have gotten two. There's still a decent amount of pecan pie left.
Then we watched Deep Blue Sea 3, which took itself very seriously, which meant no sharks growling. It was still a bad movie, but it had some redeeming spots. Fun was had watching it. Then I started the Exended Edition of Lord of the Rings, but I didn't get very far in it.
Today, we shall go to the dispensary, and maybe the Indian food store.
I'm excited about Jess maybe cooking some vegetarian meals where my current feelings about meat won't come into play. And if we can find it, I'm a huge sucker for paneer. We frequently get Himalayan Junelly from our local Indian/Nepalese food. It's kind of a buttery smooth version of Tikka Masala, with paneer and vegetables. It's so fucking good, and it's become a comfort food.
I would love the recipe, but I have been unable to find it anywhere. It seems that this is a special dish of Mount Everest Restaurant in Perry Hall.
