Monday again.
I did not want to get up this morning. I slept til about 2:00am, and then woke up, and just kind of dozed after that. Still the dozing was comfortable and warm, and 6:30am came way too early. I felt like I could have snuggled in and dozed for another hour at least.
Ah well. I have had coffee, and I am dressed (or as dressed as I get these days-which is to say leggings and a tank top). I have paced the internet, and done my morning doomscroll. I am now ready to start my day. Unfortunately, my day doesn't start for another two hours.
I did get the special project done yesterday. One of my coworkers helped, so I had time to get the inbox down to zero as well. Chicago is apparently switching warehouses, so this is why I have not gotten a report to work in 5 days. This makes me very apprehensive about the report I will get when they're moved. Ugh.
I've been working on my next MOTW mystery. I think I'm almost done for this weeks, but I will continue to dig through. I'm looking at a third mystery, but it's going to take a total rewrite to get it workable for me. As it stands, it uses a fictitious Afro-Caribbean religion in it, and I am not comfortable with using something with parallels to Santeria and Voodoo in a game. On the other hand, if I rewrite it, am I performing erasure of those communities? It's a tough line. In this case, I don't feel like the game treats it with the sensitivity it would need, so I think it's going to go. Plus, who doesn't like taking the piss of rich appropriative white New Age women? (I say this as a white New Age hippie.)
That's for a couple weeks out, though, assuming my crew wants more after this week.

I'm trying to figure out if I can still use the mystery without being disrespectful to any religion.
Definitely not as written, but the bad guys and the setting are solid. I will think on it.
