Pick a character and I will give and explain the top five ideas/concepts/etc I keep in mind while writing that character that I believe are essential to accurately depicting them.
My general things to keep in mind are 1. Dean has really, really shitty self esteem, and he thinks others agree with his assessment of himself. 2. Dean is smarter than he pretends. 3. Dean would give anything to have a family again. 4. Dean hates that he would give anything, kill anyone, run over his own morals to have them back. 5. Deep down, Dean still believes in happy endings...he's just afraid to try for one.
