This is the most awesome thing in forever.

Grab yourself a tissue, and go over here.

Things like this remind me that despite all the self involved, obnoxious jackasses in the world, there's room for little things like hope and love, and kindness.

Thanks for posting this. Made me all teary-eyed - but I needed to read this. Gave me hope. :-)

Happy Holidays!

I read this a few days ago. It made me cry, too.

I'm at work and I couldn't hold back the tears reading this article. There's still hope for the world.

My flist is full of heartwarming Christmas stories today! This is just so wonderful. And it's true, I don't want to donate to random organization because I don't know WHERE my money is going. You hear about how a lot of the money donated to charity doesn't go to people in need, but instead for overhead costs of the charity. And a lot of charities are Christian and I think that's fine and dandy, but I REALLY don't want someone to decide that my money should be used to further Christian missionary work (as in "do you love Jesus? Well you can have a sandwich AND Jesus, or no sandwich and go to Hell.")

I love the idea of giving Christmas to a family who I KNOW needs it.

For me Christmas is all about family and friends. Presents are nice, but it's more fun for me to make things for people than to recieve stuff. I don't really need more candy, but I love making a little blonde doll for my friends little blonde girl. THATS what Christmas is to me. Sitting on the floor, surrounded by fabric and thinking "what would Fiona like? How about Liam?" Then getting together for the holidays and singing, and hugging, and eating delicious food. I LOVE Christmas.

Well, I won't say I cried, but I definitely had to swallow the lump in my throat a few times.

After being in retail hell all week I really needed that. Thanks.

1: AWESOME.

2: This makes me even more furious with the people who make plenty of money but OMG couldn't possibly pay another 0.02% tax so we could extend unemployment insurance, etc.

Thanks for the reminder that people can be--and are more often than we acknowledge--openhearted and openhanded when there is need.
