Thank you to everyone for all the v-gifts!! They make me feel ridiculously happy and loved. *snuggle*

So, this was an interesting weekend. Sunday, we had a ceremony of remembrance for Grandmom, which was WAY more hardcore Christian than I was expecting. Was held at the Central Christian church, aka, the church of the minimall. I swear, that's that it looked like. Very long, very pretty, so glad it's over.I will never look at Nordstrom the same again.

Saturday, we took the new car on its first puppy rescue. Discovered that we can fit at least 11 dogs in there. Had 8 boxer puppies. (CUTE!!) A one eyed Pekingese. One medium sized shep/lab mix, and one gorgeous small lab. They were all awesome for the trip, and slept all the way into Delaware, despite the fairly heavy snowfall that was going on.

Can I ask a question? How would I get involved in fostering pups in my area(I live in CT)? I recently had to put my 12-yr old one-of-a-kind pup to sleep and I'm definitely not ready to commit to another dog permanently but I have the time, space and love to offer a pup in need. Any suggestions?? And, how tough is it to take one in and then have to deliver it to its full-time home? Will I be breaking my heart over and over?

It does break your heart a little, yeah. But it's an awesome thing to do.

There's plenty of rescues up that way. The first thing you need to think about is if there's any particular breed you want to help. Then, go to Petfinder.com, and look at the rescues in your area and see what you have.

Another possibility is checking with your local shelter. They're usually grateful to have fosters take their babies and show them how to live in a house. It helps their adoption rate.

Thank you for the honest advice ("does break your heart a little, yeah. But it's an awesome thing to do"), I'm familiar with Petfinder (I went on and looked around a bit last week but felt like I was disrespecting my baby so I haven't been back to the site since then) I'll check it out again but I'll let you know if I need help. Thanks!
