Let the bells ring out for Christmas at the closing of the year

I offer my usual Christmas carol, and the one thing I really remember from the movie Toys, aside from the fact that they billed it as a zany comedy, and it...wasn't. It wasn't bad! I actually enjoyed it a lot. I'd like to watch it again, actually. I think more of it would be relevant to me now, honestly.

Today will be mostly chill, I think. We'll open presents, have breakfast (I think we have a tube of cinnamon rolls left, so maybe I'll put them in) then relax. My sister will go to Christmas lunch with the in-laws. Then, at some point, we'll throw the prime rib in the oven, and have dinner. I did end up setting up a pickup card game on the server called "A Cunning Plan" for 7pm. I figure I'll be holidayed out by then. It seems a little complicated, but we'll see how it runs. It was described as Lock Stock and 2 Smoking Barrels meets Cutthroat Kitchen. At the very least, it'll be spending the last bit of Christmas with friends, and hopefully getting some laughs on the way--even if it's just how difficult the game is.

I was going to get lunch from Cracker Barrel yesterday, since I was going up there anyway, but the website would not play along, so we ended up getting from Southern Blues which was very tasty. Not quite what I had planned for, but totally worth the last minute shift.

I also picked up the cat's new thyroid medicine, which will hopefully not give him explosive diarrhea, because damn. Supposedly, the kind you rub in his ear is less hard on their system. We shall see. Compared to my prescriptions, it's not a whole lot, but at $40/month, he's still expensive. Totally worth it.

We didn't end up watching anything yesterday because I couldn't focus worth shit. Maybe today. Maybe not. Hopefully, once the presents are out of the way, my brain settles down a bit.

I will leave you with the same thing I posted on Facebook. This year, may you believe the little lies, so that the big ones may become.
