And so this is Christmas
I suppose since Christmas is in 5 days now, it's time to use some seasonal subject lines. It's totally snuck up on me. I can't believe that it's that soon.
Now I just need to find some time to wrap presents. I had a panic yesterday that I didn't have enough gifts, but I think honestly, I'm fine. I only have two presents for my sister, but one of them is a new Chromebook, so I think that covers her pretty well. Dad we have a ton of stuff, but it's all clothes and I feel a little bad for that. Though the only thing he actually asked for was slippers, and I got him a really nice pair. He has edema in his legs, so I got the special adjustable ones designed for that. They alone probably were half as much as my sister's computer, so I am trying to get over not having gotten something "cool" for him.
Work yesterday was boring as hell. I did my markets in the morning, and kind of putzed around the rest of the day. I had a project I could do, but I didn't make much headway on it. I just wasn't able to concentrate. I don't expect it to be much more exciting today, except that I'll have to get off my ass and work the project, It's not hard, just kind of tedious. A lot of screenshots and explaining things like people are two. But, at the end we'll have a protocol for returning cancelled or forgotten merchandise to the store, which apparently is something that a good chunk of our coworkers need.
We have a possible team meeting this week, though since the last three have been cancelled, that's debatable. And I found that the week between Christmas and New Years, I'll be doing the delivery updates, so that's something to do. The question is who will be doing my markets. both of the coworkers who usually cover for me are off for the whole week. So, that could be a mess.
Last night we played our Wild Beyond the Witchlight game! The erstwhile heroes went to the Slanty Tower, and rescued a fairie dragon knight who was stuck when his balloon caught on the tower. He gave them his tiny sword and some intel about their quarry, Bavlona Brightstraw. Then, they looted they cleared out some snakes with a truly awesome Animal Handling roll, and went in the tower, looting all the way. Then, it was off to Telemy Hill, where they met a goblin who loved her keys, and had an annoying tendency to refer to herself in the first person. In return for a gourmet dinner cooked by the Ranger, she handed off a master key that should open most locks, and told them about the harengon (hare-people) brigands on the nearby tollway.
They continued onwards, and met a villager who didn't drop many plot hooks. They continued onto the tollway, and met the leader of the brigands, Agdon Longscarf. He demanded their best memory of joy or he'd beat them up! Instead, the party's harengon druid challenged him to a race and won! Defeated, Agdon offered to guide them to Downfall, where the evil Bavlorna dwells.
They arrived in Downfall, and almost immediately met a giant toad who was regurgitating a guard he'd swallowed. The guard was a little meh about it, but the toad seemed to be having fun. He reminded them to be courteous and gallant in Downfall to stay on everyone's good side.
They continued on and found a giant mushroom patch that held an elf playing melancholy music. He told them his tale of woe. He'd wanted to forget his lost loves, and made a deal with Bavlorna. However, when he didn't pay, she took his heart and replaced it with a goat's heart. Now he feels nothing. The party agreed to find and return his heart!
We ended there, as it was about time to start putting Dad to bed. Scheduling was miraculously easy, for a change!
Okay, time to have some more coffee, and get ready for work.
Have a good Monday, y'all.
