*yawn*
I so did not want to wake up this morning. I heard my alarm, and briefly considered whacking the shit out of it and dozing back off. The coffee helped some, but still. Need naaap. *snore*
Ah well. Was a good weekend, all in all.
Saturday, I had an appointment with the dentist, to check out an impacted wisdom tooth that's been annoying me. No shock, it needs to come out. Originally, I'd
scheduled an appointment for Thursday afternoon, but I've decided to hold off on that. Instead, I'm going to get a check up first, see what all needs to be done, and then I'll work on it. Unfortunately, the first appointment they had for a check up is Nov. 19th, which sucks, but oh well. If anything gives me trouble in the meantime, I'll call them back.
This is all part of the new "Taking care of me" theme I'm trying to implement in my life. We'll see how it goes. Have already lost a bit of weight, even without being able to exercise due to shoulder pain.
Shoulder is finally feeling close to normal again, though it occasionally still twinges. Will have to start very gently on it with the workouts so as not to piss it off.
Also finally got Jess to watch "Something to Talk About" on Saturday. I do love that movie, and I have no idea why. *shrug* I think it appeals to some weird Southern part of me.
Sunday, Jess had work until 4, then we headed home for a couple hours before heading to our first ever MEWF show. Those are the guys who took over for our MCW boys. First of all, the show is held at the North Point Blvd Flea Market, which is basically an old converted Toys R Us store. Second, North Point is next to the Back River Sewage Treatment plant. So, as soon as we arrive at the place, we're struck first by the seriously run-down appearance and scary-looking rednecks outside, and when we braved that, the smell just slapped you across the face. Ew.
The show was horrid. The MEWF guys don't seem to have the will or the ability to put on a decent show for the most part. There are maybe three that I wouldn't chuck onto the scrap heap. Our guys were wonderful, as usual, and picked us out of the crowd without problem. Then again, the crowd was so flipping apathetic that I'm not surprised. We were the only ones really making noise. The Holy Rollers were the first of our boys who came out, and we got a smile and a wave from Rich, and the traditional terrified looking nod from Earl. (there are no women in his village, I swear)
Later, came Joey and Danny Doring, and Jess' boy, Genesis, who saw fit to remind us that he is, indeed, still a rookie. He went to powerbomb one of the valets, but overestimated her weight, and threw her in a kind of backward arc. Her crotch hit his forehead, and knocked them both over. Poor Genesis. I hope he never has children, cause damn.
Joey lost a loser-leaves-MEWF match, and assured us that he's never coming back. Time will tell. IF not, there's always Ring of Honor. I will travel for my boys.
The big problem I had with the MEWF crowd is that the majority of the people seem to be belligerent rednecks, whereas MCW had a small minority of them. The guy who sat in front of us was just downright creepy, and kept looking back at us like he was a minute from trying to kill us. And also his favorite thing to call the wrestlers was the "F" word, and I'm not talking about fuck. I don't like it, but I can ignore it when it's not the predominant epithet. When it is, I get very uncomfortable. Add to that, there was this one guy who I swore was going to go after Joey. Actually spit at him at one point. Got right up in Candi's face and yelled that she was a whore. MEWF had no fucking security, either. If any of the MCW fans did that shit, they'd have been gone in a heartbeat. So, not my favorite show. I'll probably go back, but it'll be with George, and possibly my knife on my body. God knows, I could have walked in with a small arsenal for all they paid attention.
Yesterday, I had off for Yom Kippur, which allowed me to have a lovely lunch with my beloved, as well as do a nice trip to Wal-Mart for some clothes for her. Next trip will be to get some shelving for our room, to put said clothes on. *grin*
And today, am back at work. Whoohoo. Is a pretty boring day, which is not a bad thing.
