(no subject)

Took the stray, who we've dubbed Samwise, to the vet yesterday. He had an abscess on his jaw, and is a bit underweight, but otherwise good. Felline Leukemia and AIDS free, which was great to hear. Got his first round of shots, and took him home. He came back in the afternoon and evening, but when we went out to give him his antibiotics he wouldn't come. Hasn't come back this morning, either. Normally, he comes to our voices, knowing that we'll give him lots of food and love.

I'm so worried about him. I feel sick to my stomach, thinking that something horrible has happened. He's got a collar, so in theory someone would call us. But, if it's fallen off, or if he's had a bad reaction to the shots...

I hate this. I want my Sammy-cat to come home.

ETA: Kitty is home. *breathes sigh of relief*

*hug* I hope he's all right, and I'm praying that he'll come home soon.

Kitty is home! Thank you for the prayers, I know it helped!

He'll be back - he's just doing the cat thing, sitting under a bush watching you, sticking his tongue out and thinking - bastards!

Cats aren't daft. Once he's done pouting he'll be home.

*Hug*

He's back, the little shit. And totally oblivious to the trauma he's caused.

[identity profile] madandy.livejournal.com 2006-01-26 03:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Heh. No doubt sitting there, eyes half shut with that smug little Cat Look - the one that says 'yeah, you were worried. I know. I win.'

*Snort*

Glad he's home!

PS - Have you ever considered microchipping? Can't be lost like a collar...

[identity profile] beanside.livejournal.com 2006-01-26 03:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh yes, and he will be microchipped when we take him to have his balls lopped off. *grin* He just showed up about a month or so ago, and has only let us pet him for 2 weeks now. We're going to start working him into the house now that we know he won't infect our other cats, and when he goes back for his 2nd distemper shot, he'll be getting neutered and chipped.

He's probably just mad that you took him to the vet! He'll be back.

And sure enough, he is. Apparently all pleased with himself, too. Must remember to give him an extra tight hug in retribution.

*pet* I know. I'm sorry. I'm worried, too.

Love you.

*nuzzle* Thanks for calling to let me know. Now I take deep breath and go on with my day. Otherwise, I totally would have spent the day fretting. *kiss* Love you, honey.

I trust that he will come back when he's good and hungry. Then you lock him in a small bathroom and only give him food when you are around. It's how I "domesticated" Willow.
A kind of Kitty-Stockholm sydrome will develop in the best instances, and I hope that your Samwise is young enough to accept being an indoor cat from then on.

I'm glad kitty's home!
