Everyone's got to face down the demonsm maybe today you can put the past away

It's Sunday! Yesterday was a lovely quiet day. At work, I had a grand total of 3 calls, and mostly sat and read trashy Alpha Omega books. I found a few on Kindle unlimited that scratched the itch I've had for shifter fluff, where the girl finds out that she's the most special sunbeam. I found one called the Fire Maiden Saga, which was totally enjoyable. Not going to rock the literary world or anything, but exactly what I wanted.

Afterwards, we watched another couple of episodes of Great British Bakeoff, which was thoroughly relaxing. Then, it was time to start cooking the Gochujang beef. (realized that I completely misspelled gochujang yesterday. Whoops.) I started out by browning the beef, then pulled that out and added onions to soften, then shreded carrots, then when the carrots softened a touch, I threw in a heaping spoonful of garlic. Then the beef, then two big spoonfuls of gochujang paste and some beef stock. Then, stir until combined and put the lid on and let it go for an hour and a half. Then, take the lid off and another 20 min to thicken the sauce.

I served it on Lotus buns, which are basically soft pillowy rice buns.

That's it on the buns, with a little bean sprouts underneath and some green onions to make it look pretty.

Later, my sister asked for seconds, but just on a plate.

I sent the picture to [personal profile] poisontaster who was surprised that it was homemade. She thought I was sending pictures of my takeout!

It tasted so good. It was a bit spicy, but really flavorful and meaty.

Then it was time for Jess to have their game and I chilled out and watched the WWE Royal Rumble. Wrestling is where I came from--my first fandom, and they pull me back in regularly. There were some really fun matches, and some amazing character work that made me super happy. It's the soap opera that doesn't forget plot points from 10 years ago.

Today, I've got a game at three, so I'm going to get started on laundry fairly early. I think we've got about 2 loads worth, though we might be able to squeeze it into one.

I'll wait til after 10, just to be good neighbors. The washer has a tendency to walk a bit, so I don't want to wake anyone with the banging. Dinner is going to be super simple, just some country style pork ribs, baked until they're tender. Maybe I'll throw in some potatoes as well. It's strange to have an oven with two racks.

For now, I shall go forth and make breakfast. I'm leaning towards my usual fry up. Bacon, mushrooms and eggs.

Everyone have a stellar Sunday!
