I can't tell where the journey will end but I know where to start
Another day up by 5:30. WTF body? We could sleep in til 7 during the week, but that doesn't seem to be happening. Part of it is that today is my physical down at Hopkins, so I woke up anxious. I don't expect there to be any problems, I'm just an anxious person. I mean, I'm good. I took my pills, and took a shower like a normal human. I have to grab a mask and the paperwork I had to fill out and put them in my purse so I'm ready to go. Jess has kindly agreed to go see Dad today after my appointment so I don't have to worry about it.
My sister is very interactive this morning. 6:23 am is not the time to hear about politics. (I would posit that it's never the time to hear about the orange one, but that's another thing.). It's making me want to scream.
I checked my unemployment yesterday to see if anything had come through, but as of 4pm, nothing. I'll try to call today and see where we're at. I'm not sure how it's supposed to be helpful when it takes over 30 days to come through. People have bills, for fuck's sake. I'm due close to $1300 at this point. Assuming they don't fuck me over and deny it for some reason.
I did get in touch with the HR dept at Harford County about the pension payout. I have an appointment on Thursday at 8:30 am to get. the paperwork finished and stamped. No clue how long the state of MD takes to send those payouts. Probably another 30 days, knowing them. That would be another $1200, which would help immenselly.
After some consideration, and copious youtube research, I determined that the extra stop in the 9 day Alaska cruise was not vital. I'm sure Sitka is lovely, but it doesn't seem an extra $4000 lovely. So we'll do the 7 night, and hit Skagway, Juneau, Ketchikan and the Sitkine Icecap for glacier viewing. If we do it towards the middle of August, it's considerably cheaper, so we'll definitely do that. It's still a big chunk of money, but we can do it. I think we'll bank our taxes, which will almost pay for it, so it should be good. We're looking at going in 2028, which gives us plenty of time.
First up, Philadelphia, and then Mexico! I've been doing research on that, too. Youtube is a wealth of information on these things.
Okay, time for me to obsess about my appointment. Everyone have an excellent Tuesday!
