Sunset shadows through the trophies, I guess it just ain't big enough
Ugh, it's morning. I woke up with a weather-induced headache and my sister is determined to be interactive and it's making me want to claw my ears off. Is it possible to wake up pre-overstimulated? Because I feel like that's something that happened. Some mornings, she's just SO loud and perky and I haven't even had coffee yet. Usually, it's not a problem, and I can ignore her while I wake up, but today it's just grating.
Had a nice, low key day yesterday. Once everyone was up, we exchanged presents. I immediately used my Amazon gift card for another Whole foods order for snacky things. I really enjoy having crackers and cheese for game. I got some more meats, so that should be nice. And more olives, because I can down a lot of olives. I also used my Lands End gift card to grab a shirt and skort. After that, we got ourselves together and visited Dad. He seemed okay, maybe not quite as good as on Sunday, but pretty good. His labs keep going all over the place. The white count had dropped, but now it's back up. Some of his chemistries are out of whack. The doctor seemed to think he was improving, so I guess we'll wait. I'm sure they'll get some more labs today and we'll see what they show.
Once we finished at the hospital, I got to cooking, and after a little while, we had a nice rare prime rib and all the fixin's. I immediately set to slicing it and making little sandwiches with the crusty little rolls with horseradish sauce. Once that was done, it was time for the brother in law to come over and exchange gifts with my sister. Then, finally, it was gametime. We had a wonderful time, and I enjoyed the module a great deal.
Today, either Jess or I will go visit dad, I'll go pick up my Whole Foods order and I will relax, and go back to checking my email every five minutes. I know I won't hear anything this week most likely, but I'm a little obsessive, so I probably will anyway. Not sure what we're doing for dinner--probably leftovers. More sandwiches, I suppose. I had gotten chicken out for dinner on Friday, but we ended up eating out, and I don't think I still trust that chicken after four days, so I'll see what else we could do.
I hope everyone had an excellent day yesterday, whether you celebrate or not, and that you have a smooth return to work (or not) today!
