Champagne, cocaine, gasoline and most things in between
It's my last free Sunday for a couple of weeks, so I'm going to try to make the most of it. First, when I finish my post, I'm going to go pick up some prescriptions before the pharmacy gets busy. Once I'm done that, I will probably be a lump until it's time for game tonight. Or, possibly, I'll go try another route to the backup center.
That was the excitement of yesterday. We drove up to the backup center. I have to go there on Friday for orientation, so it seemed like a good plan to know where the fuck it was. We drove up one way, and back another, and may I just say, this place is in the middle of fucking nowhere. It is in the land of two lane winding roads, and I'm not really a fan. Thus why I may try another route today, and see if option 3 is less annoying. Option 1, the way we went up, really not a fan. A lot of blind curves, which I dislike. Option 2, definitely better, but not amazing. There's a third possibility that'll take a little longer, but we'll see if it's less winding.
The other thing I don't love is that the center is in the middle of a bit of a red enclave within a mostly blue state. Driving up, I saw a sign for the Orange Disaster as well as a "Back the Blue" sign with the thin blue line bullshit. I guess as a 911 operator, I should get used to that, since half the damn dispatch people are married to cops.
The center itself is tiny. I'm used to the main center, which is huge. This is about 1/2 the size of a small Aldi. I'm not sure how they're going to fit all of us in there. There's going to be some overlap days where like 8 people, plus trainers are going to be in, so it could be a challenge.
Aside from that, I've done some studying for the test on Tuesday. I'm pretty solid on the police 10 codes, but I'm shaky on state routes, so I'll be working on that today. I think I'm good enough to pass, though. We shall see. I'm more anxious about that test than the practical. I'm as good as I can be on the practical. The main thing on that one is to take control of the "call" so I can get the information at the pace that I want it. It's going to be a lot for one day, Happy Halloween to us.
Tonight, we have the hopeful conclusion of a game. I say hopeful, because for a game that branded itself a one shot, there's a lot of content. It's not a bad thing, but I don't see it ever being finished in 3 hours, which is what they suggested. They're totally on crack.
Okay, time to think about putting on clothes and grabbing some prescriptions, I suppose. Everyone have a wonderful Sunday!
