Another round of bullets hits my skin. Well fire away, 'cause today I won't let the shame sink in
I think I'm slowly recovering from my night shift. I actually feel a normal amount of "haven't had my caffiene yet" tired. Proof that I'm old, I suppose. If I had that schedule I'd be fine, it's just that I only had one night, so my sleep schedule got screwed coming and going. I understand why they wanted to do it, but it was really tough.
Yesterday, we started the classes about the protocols that will direct us what to say to people. It's like a choose your own adventure book. Depending on the answer to your questions, we'll pick the next thing to say. All cslls start the same, but some get sent to be dispatched quicker. Once we're in the real environment there's software that does it, but we learn with the flip books, so we can learn the sections and how to do it in case there's ever a computer problem.
It's not that difficult, though my brains are going to explode from all the abbreviations and symbols. But I'll get there. Tomorrow is a dual test day. I've got the quiz on police codes and State Route numbers and names, and I've got the test for the protocols. It's going to be quite a busy day.
My check came in yesterday, which was nice. I love Tmobile. It comes in super early and makes my life easier.
Once I get through tomorrow, I have a one shot game that I haven't prepped for at all. I'll be doing that Friday night when I get home. I think I might only have two players, possibly three. Hopefully it's a lot of fun.
There's a ton of drama at work. I'm just staying out of it. The one older student and I have sort of become friends, but she's only nominally in the loop, so I'm only hearing bits and parts ov it. Long story short, misanthopic girl doesn't like slightly weird guy. Weird guy is kind of hapless and always broke and she says she's afraid of him. Because of her, they shifted some people's schedules around. Not mine, thankfully. I don't think he's dangerous, but who the fuck knows? I guess anyone could be dangerous with the right provocation. Like I said, I'm staying out of it.
Okay, time to go forth and get my ass in gear. Everyone have an excellent Thursday!
