I'll be satisfied if I play along, but the voice inside sings a different song

My cat is an asshole. It's Saturday, I wanna sleep in until at least 7, but nooo, someone insisted on jumping upon me at 5. And 5:15. And 6: and 6:30. I finally gave in then, because it was obvious that I wasn't going to get anymore sleep. I love her so much, but she came close to getting launched across the room. Especially when her little stompy feet hit the callus on my collarbone from when I broke it when I was 5. (45 years, and it's still tender to press on).

Today is going to be a mostly quiet day. We've gotta go down to the weed store to pick up Jess' "relaxing peppermints" also known as their sleepy pills. Who needs Ambien when you've got marijuana? Unfortunately the store that we normally go to seems to be out, so we've gotta go to the one downtown. Which is fine, it's just that this one doesn't have a drive thru, so we'll actually have to get out of the car. Ew.

I'm still at the honeymoon phase with the car, where I so enjoy driving it that I don't even mind that I have to go downtown with stupid people.

Aside from that, we have nothing planned this Saturday. My sister has a retirement lunch, and so we'll be on dad-duty all day. She's bringing us dinner home, so I can't be too upset. And besides, she's allowed to have a social life too. I guess.

Sunday, aside from work, we also have a Monster of the Week game, which is the second half of the faerie christening. Someone's already tried to kill both the Summer and Winter Queens, but I'm sure the rest of the festivities will go smoothly. No problems at all.

But really, I'm living for next weekend. Now that we have a car that I'm not afraid to drive more than 20 minutes at a time, we've decided to start making plans with people who live out of town. We're starting with our contingent near Philadelphia and are driving up next Saturday for lunch! We're hitting a Sichuan/Taiwanese place that looks SO amazing. I can't decide whether I want an entree or just to get a buttload of appetizers. I mean, to be fair, the company is the main draw, of course.

It's funny, after driving to Orlando and back, an hour and 43 minutes each way doesn't seem that bad. I can do nearly four hours of driving in a day, no problem. I did approximately 11 hours of driving in one day, with only brief breaks for lunch and dinner.

In a month, when we have another Saturday free, we're going to head down to DC to catch up with our friends down there.

Okay, time for me to go forth and maybe have something to eat. Everyone have the most excellent Saturday!
