Like a beast with his horn I have torn everyone who reached out for me
I am so thoroughly wiped out today. We had D&D that ran late, then Dad was fussy, then there was a cat on our back porch and the cat freaked out yowling. I figure that I finally got to sleep around 1am. The alarm at 5:30am was kind of shitty. I laid there til 6, and finally dragged out of bed. As a result, this is probably going to be short and kind of disjointed because I am no where near awake.
Our game was excellent. A fun ghostly romp through the specters of two warring families who made their own Red Wedding. I was playing a Dhampir (half vampire) who was kind of a coward, so upon conflict, her first move was to climb the wall, onto the ceiling and cast a turn undead. DMs make the biggest chaos muppet players.
(insert the tiktok song "Chronically Cautious" here) So next Thursday, we're doing a presentation to one of the higher ups at work about what my department does. The plan was to have a series of short meetings to show him each task within our dept. This...sounded boring and totally not cohesive to me. I was set to give the overview and then a rep from each dept would handle the rest. I could see what would happen. The big boss would get side tracked during one of the breaks between the meeting, the scheduled would get thrown off and it would be a mess. So, I suggested one long meeting, with the presenters switching in and out, and a single moderator to do an overview and to provide transition between the tasks. It's the kind of thing a manager would normally do. Soooo, I got tabbed to be the moderator. Which means that I'm going to be in a four hour meeting, and it'll be my task to guide him through the lifecycle of an order and how it applies to my team. It's a daunting goal and I'm a bit anxious.
Today, I'm on the Delivery Updates, which is not a big deal. At least I'll have multiple spreadsheets up and will look like I'm working, so that's something.
Then I have my first Team Lead meeting for CONfab, yay!
Okay, time for me to go put on pants. Everyone have a good Thursday!
