You're dedicated, you took the time

I am having some trouble adjusting to the time change. Since I work on Sunday, I can't just sleep an extra hour, and then go back to work on Monday rested, so instead, I will spend the next few days trying to catch up on sleep. Today, I have to go visit dad, so tonight will not be an early night.

This not having a car thing is really a bitch. I spend more money on Ubers than it would probably cost to fix the car, but it's incremental. And I kind of have to go to work and to see dad. I could just wait til my sister gets home, and use the car, but then I'm not getting back til later, and it cuts into my preparing for sleep time. It's much better for my sleep hygiene to have the time to relax. It makes it more likely than I'll actually get to sleep on time, and not be staring at the clock going "If I get to sleep now, I can get X hours," repeat ad nauseam.

We had an excellent game last night. My former Lost Mine of Phandelver group has moved on to Storm Lord's Wrath. It's got a good couple of hooks, and I think it's going to work well, but it was a very combat heavy start. It doesn't seem to continue that all the way through the module, which is good. You need a little bit of everything to make the module really successful. We'll figure it out, though, and I'll amend it as much as it's needed.

Oh lord, they're at it again at work. An email came in, that was related to the markets. It had a note saying these were too old to be on the NDR report, but needed to be worked. It wasn't the NDR, strictly speaking, so one of the NDR people moved it back. The email person (aka the one who is disliked so much) moved it back to the NDR folder. Finally, the usual instigator, who has markets on the list goes in team chat and is like "this isn't an NDR, it should be worked by the inbox." I pointed out that the lead had addressed it to her, and that it was specifically stuff that had aged off those NDRs, so I felt that everyone should do their own markets. They all whined some more, and another instigator chimed in that she had the inbox tomorrow, so if it was still there she'd work it, yet again throwing shade on the inbox person for not doing it. Mind you 2/3 of it was her markets anyway. Finally, I gave up and said I'd do it because these people were giving me a headache. After all that, it took me twenty goddamned minutes. Twenty! I timed it.

I will be very happy when my manager comes back on Sunday. I have missed him, and the team has definitely suffered in his absence. For all that our team is like "we're self sufficient" they really do need direction to make sure things get done.

Okay, time for me to get myself together for work. It's going to be a long and boring day. Everyone have a wonderful Monday!
